-80.7% off the 39.92 high and still Stage 3 topping. The backtest says it all: 66 trades, 39% win rate, you lose either way with ETC.
@Darius the strategy still beat buy and hold by 38 points though. Following the SELL signal is literally the only way to touch this one.
@Nora beating buy and hold by 38 points on an asset down 80% is a very low bar lol. Took the SELL near 8.1 and I am sleeping fine.
39% win rate across 66 trades is brutal but thats trend following on a coin that chops for years. ETC only really moves when the whole market drags it along.
exactly, 66 trades and it still cant outrun cash. trend following needs an asset that actually trends, ETC just chops in ranges for years
OBV down and volume ratio 0.45 screams distribution. Nobody is buying this dip under 8.26.
0.45 volume ratio plus OBV rolling over, agreed. The only thing that saved ETC before was a hashrate migration story and even that bounce got sold into.
Watching 7.44 support. If that breaks the 6.02 low from the year is back in play fast with 5% daily ATR.
7.44 is the line. Lost it back in the spring and printed the low within days, that 5% daily ATR cuts both ways.
that 5% ATR is exactly why the stop placement in this plan makes no sense. a 12k deployment with tight stops on ETC gets wicked out before the move even starts
7.44 might hold but ADX at 32 says the downtrend has real legs. i want to see a reclaim of 10.38 before even thinking about it
SOL up 39% on the year while ETC sits at -7.5% tells you everything. who is honestly deploying 12k into Stage 3 topping here
the SOL comparison stings but its fair. front loading buys during Stage 3 topping is the weird part, you would want most of that 12k waiting far lower
