Bitcoin ETF Inflows Hit $176 Million as US Funds Log a Second Day of Gains: What the Recovery Means for Your Crypto Wallet

# Bitcoin ETF Inflows Hit $176 Million as US Funds Log a Second Day of Gains: What the Recovery Means for Your Crypto Wallet

Bitcoin ETF inflows reached approximately $176 million on Tuesday, marking a second consecutive trading day of gains for US-listed spot Bitcoin funds, according to SoSoValue data. For everyday crypto investors, the turnaround matters because it suggests the institutional pullback that weighed on the market through late October may be losing steam — even if the month as a whole remains marginally negative.

Monday’s session brought in about $110 million, bringing the two-day intake to roughly $286 million. Those two positive sessions followed nearly $774 million in withdrawals across Thursday and Friday of the previous week, a stretch that had raised concerns about sustained institutional selling pressure. Year-to-date net inflows into the US spot Bitcoin ETFs stood at roughly $850 million through Tuesday.

## October’s ledger is close to breakeven

The recovery has narrowed October’s net flows dramatically. After the two positive sessions, the month’s net outflows for US spot Bitcoin ETFs stood at about $26 million — within striking distance of a flat month, and a significant improvement from where the figure sat just days earlier after the heavy Thursday–Friday withdrawals.

That near-breakeven reading is notable given how the month began. Sustained outflows had put October on course to be one of the weaker months of the year for the Bitcoin ETF complex. Instead, two sessions of buying have essentially erased the monthly deficit, according to SoSoValue’s figures.

## Sentiment is recovering alongside the flows

The improvement in Bitcoin ETF inflows coincided with a modest uptick in market sentiment. Alternative.me’s Crypto Fear & Greed Index rose from 48 the previous day to 51, remaining within its Neutral category. A week earlier, the index had registered 63, classified as Greed — so sentiment is still well below its recent highs, but the direction of travel has improved.

For context, Bitcoin was trading at approximately $81,239 at the time of writing, up about 1.84% over the past 24 hours, according to the batch-wide price snapshot used across this publication’s coverage. Ethereum stood near $2,359 and Solana near $103 in the same snapshot.

## Ether funds tell the opposite story

The most striking contrast in the current flow data is between Bitcoin and Ether products. US spot Ether ETFs recorded about $149 million in net withdrawals across Monday and Tuesday combined, moving in the opposite direction from their Bitcoin counterparts.

Those Ether withdrawals followed four consecutive weeks in which Ether funds lost money on a net basis. Ether ETFs’ cumulative October net outflows reached $1.32 billion through Tuesday, putting the month on pace to register the heaviest net outflows since November 2025 — even as Bitcoin funds narrowed their own monthly figures to near breakeven.

The divergence is worth watching for anyone holding a mixed portfolio. When Bitcoin products attract money while Ether products bleed it, the market is effectively making a preference statement within the two largest crypto assets. Whether that preference persists into November will be one of the more telling signals for the broader market’s direction.

## What the two-day recovery does — and does not — prove

Two positive sessions do not establish a trend. The roughly $286 million that entered across Monday and Tuesday is smaller than the nearly $774 million that left across the preceding Thursday and Friday. A full reversal of October’s institutional caution would require sustained inflows over multiple weeks, not just two good days.

That said, the recovery is consistent with a market finding its footing. Bitcoin’s price holding above the $80,000 level while flows turn positive suggests the selling pressure that dominated mid-October was concentrated rather than broad-based. Concentrated selling that exhausts itself tends to be followed by steadier conditions, though that outcome is never guaranteed.

## Why banking access and regulation remain the backdrop

Institutional flows do not happen in a vacuum. Speaking at Ripple’s Swell conference in New York on October 27, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent proposed closer coordination among the Treasury Department, the SEC and the CFTC on crypto regulation, after the CLARITY Act stalled on a 49–50 Senate procedural vote in September. Bessent also raised concerns about crypto businesses losing access to traditional banking services.

For ETF investors specifically, regulatory clarity matters because it shapes how comfortably advisers and institutions can allocate to these products. An agency-led framework, even an interim one, reduces some of the uncertainty that the stalled legislation left behind — though agency action generally provides less durable certainty than a law passed by Congress.

## Practical takeaways for everyday investors

First, watch the weekly flow reports rather than reacting to single sessions. The pattern that matters is whether Bitcoin ETF inflows persist through the end of October and into November, and whether Ether funds stabilize.

Second, the near-breakeven October for Bitcoin ETFs — net outflows of only about $26 million after being far worse — shows how quickly flow narratives can change. Investors who sold during the panic of the $774 million outflow stretch missed the subsequent recovery.

Third, sentiment at 51 on the Fear & Greed Index is Neutral, which historically describes a market without an extreme positioning bias in either direction. Neutral conditions tend to reward patience over reflexive trading.

Finally, remember that ETF flows reflect what institutions are doing with a specific wrapper product, not the whole market. They are one input among many — but right now, that input has turned modestly positive for Bitcoin and sharply negative for Ether, and that contrast is the single most important story in this week’s flow data.

  1. 176M in one session after 774M got pulled out last week. the institutional crowd is dip buying again, watch what friday brings

    1. Two green days is a bounce, not a trend. Monday was only 110M and the month is still net negative. I will get excited at four or five sessions in a row.

      1. net negative month at only -26M after that outflow week is the actual headline. people were calling october a disaster two weeks ago, now its basically flat

    2. watch what happens if tomorrow goes red. last time the dip buying flipped, inflows stayed negative four straight sessions. one 176M print is noise until it stacks

  2. Two good sessions still does not cover the 774 million that left on Thursday and Friday. Glad the bleeding stopped, but I want October net positive before reading anything into SoSoValue prints.

  3. 286M across two days vs 774M out the door thu and fri. sosovalue numbers show they still have a lot of ground to make back, cool your jets

    1. fredo thats fair but inflows accelerating day over day (110 to 176) matters more than the raw total imo. momentum was clearly turning

  4. I remember when a 176 million day would have moved the price 5 percent. Now it barely dents the chart. Tells you how big this market got.

    1. checked the chart right after the print, basically a nothing candle. a 176M day moving nothing tells you price discovery lives elsewhere now

  5. $774M out thursday and friday then $286M back in two sessions. half the october hole is already filled, month might actually close near flat

    1. $110M of that two day total was monday, tuesday slowed to $176M. calling it a recovery streak this early is kinda copium imo

      1. wenflow the two day total was 286M and monday was the slow day, not tuesday. 110 then 176 is literally day over day acceleration

  6. YTD at 850M with BTC at 80k is rough when you remember the launch year hype. the ETF crowd is basically flat and patient, not bullish

  7. The part people miss: YTD net inflows are only about $850 million. Two decent days dont change a year of basically flat institutional demand.

    1. dorthe thats the number that matters tbh. 850M for a whole year of spot ETFs feels tiny next to what gold funds pull in during a bad week

    2. Dorthe it is worse than flat. 850M for a whole year is what one decent IBIT week did back in 2024. The novelty money left and never came back.

  8. october sitting at -26M net after that 774M thu/fri dump is quietly wild. one more green print and the month closes positive, nobody would have bet on that friday

  9. fear and greed crawling 48 to 51 and everyone acting like the mood flipped. it was 63 a week ago, we are just less scared, still neutral
