Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
link at 8.72 with a HOLD rating lmao, down 71% from the high and the system cant even commit to sell or buy. classic
The whole point of trend-following is you dont catch tops or bottoms. Death cross plus below 200d means sell, but 50d rising and OBV accumulating says something else. Low conviction = size accordingly
71% drawdown and still stage 3 topping is wild. thats not topping thats already topped and fell off the cliff months ago
30k to 23k in a backtest and the signal is HOLD? bro just say sell lol
backtests dont predict anything in crypto. the regime shifts are too fast for MA crossover strategies
lol the backtest only covers the bleed so HOLD is the rating system surviving its own track record. if it breaks 7.90 support even the algo has to blink
thats the point of systematized ratings, the model has no ego. breaks 7.90 and the next print reads EXIT and everyone acts shocked
tobias the backtest covering the bleed is exactly what you want. you learn more about a system from its worst stretch than from a green candle fiesta
the algo blinking at 7.90 is the feature though. most HOLD takes never print where theyre wrong, this one puts the invalidation on the page before you buy. boring is the point
invalidation_ike boring is the point until it is not. 30k hold plan at 8.72 means you need 5 price drops from here to 7.90 to wipe the whole allocation
Tove L. its 4 more tranches if each drop eats one buy, and the last tranche lands right on the invalidation line. spreadsheet bravery until the final row
invalidation_ike printing the wrong-side number is why these read better than 90 pct of hold pieces. just wish it showed ADX at the last 3 breaks, chop can fake the coil read
selling 8 dollars down 71% is how you miss the mean reversion leg entirely. HOLD is the only rating that forces no decision
selling at 8.72 after the bleed from 30 is realizing the drawdown for no reason. staged entries exist so one candle doesnt decide your average
Price is above the 50d at 8.15 but below the 200d at 8.80. Classic chop zone. ADX at 18 confirms there is no real trend here.
ADX 18 pinned between 8.15 and 8.80 is a range until it isnt. the OBV accumulation under 9 is the only mildly bullish detail in the whole writeup
Low was 7.02 and support is 7.90. Not much cushion if BTC decides to dump again. Been watching LINK since 13.93 last year and it just keeps bleeding
52w high 30.81 and the debate is whether HOLD fits at 8.72. down 71% and they still write a 30k deployment plan for it. commitment to the bit
a staged 30k deployment plan on an 8 dollar token is just DCA with a spreadsheet. the OBV uptick under 9 carries the whole bullish case
spreadsheet dca with a hard stop at 7.90 still beats the vibes buys at 13.93 from last year. the OBV uptick matters less than people sticking to the plan
link at 8.72 with a 30.81 yearly high and the thesis survives. been here since 2021 and the invalidation at 7.90 is the only thing that makes me sweat
Staging a 30k deployment while LINK sits under 9 is patience with a spreadsheet. Breaking 7.90 changes the plan, until then the range pays you nothing to panic.
50d at 8.15 holding while the 200d sits at 8.80 means the plan basically only works if the range resolves up. the OBV uptick is nice but its carrying the entire bullish case on its back
8.72 against a 30.81 yearly high and the whole thesis survives on one line at 7.90. Honest at least. I sold a tranche at 8.80 last month and regretting it less every day the range holds
the 7.90 hard stop is what separates this from moonbag analysis. most hold pieces handwave the downside, this one numbers it
