Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
1.99 with a death cross AND a macd bear cross and this is still a high conviction buy? the 1.96 vol ratio is doing all the heavy lifting
^ the 7/3 split is mostly trend indicators agreeing with each other tbh
buy signal on something still down 76 percent from 8.49, trend following is wild. RSI 63.9 and ADX 55.6 tho, the trend itself is real
the 50d is at 1.77 and price is 1.99, youre chasing right into the 2.07 resistance. id wait for a pullback toward 1.61
if ADX is 55.6 that pullback to 1.61 probably never shows up, strong trends rarely hand you the 50d. learned that shorting them in 2024
50d never shows up on an ADX 55 trend, ask anyone who waited for the 2024 pullback that never came. half here add over 2.07 is the only version that makes sense
ADX 55 trends rarely gift you the 50d at 1.77 tho. half position at 1.99 with adds over 2.07 splits the difference fine
The backtest lost 24.9% over two years and the 12-buy DCA beat it. Hard pass on the strategy, the momentum read maybe.
-76.6% drawdown on an exchange token, holding my nose on this one. ADX 55.6 is genuinely strong tho
^ holding my nose with you. only exchange token that came back from a drawdown like that was BNB and it had real revenue behind it
the BNB comparison is closer than people admit. bitget prints real revenue through fee discounts and launchpads, the 8.49 high was not printed on thin air
trade log is buying and selling every single day for 1% moves. 44 trades, 34% win rate… who is this for
44 trades on a daily chart over two years is a bot no doubt, but the 12 buy DCA winning anyway says something about the underlying. still not my trade tho
44 trades at a 34% win rate is a bot churning fees more than a strategy. the momentum read is fine, the execution layer is what prints the -24.9%
34 percent win rate with a -24.9 percent return means the sizing is the bug not the signal. the trend read itself is fine
sizing is the bug, exactly. same signal at half position with adds on the 2.07 break and the backtest flips without touching the read itself
sizing AND the 44 trade churn. same signal filtered down to a dozen entries is basically the DCA line that already beat the backtest
34 percent win rate can carry positive expectancy per trade, its just an aggressive trend bot. the -24.9 percent comes from sizing, fix that and rerun
sizing is fixable, a broken read isnt. same signal at half risk with the add trigger above 2.07 and that -24.9 flips to something tradeable. the geometry was never the problem
BGB at 1.99 with the 8.49 high as context and half the thread calls it untradeable. 2.07 decides, ADX 55 says the attempt is live
1.99 entry with risk down to 1.61 on a token that is 76% off its high. the geometry only works if 2.07 breaks first, otherwise this is just a donation
2.07 is the whole trade, agree. but a 1.96 volume ratio means the break attempt has fuel behind it. half position here, add the rest on a 1.77 retest, that is the sane version
2.07 is the line, but the 1.96 volume ratio says the break attempt is real. scaling in around it beats the all in donation trade
exchange tokens with real fee discount loops keep outliving the critics. BGB at 76 percent off with an ADX of 55, thats a trend rebuilding
fee discount loops also print revenue in a downturn, which is when exchange tokens usually die. BGB earning through the 76 percent drawdown is the part critics skip
fee loops only print while traders stay active. last bear even BNB took a 60 percent haircut, real revenue slowed the bleed, it didnt stop it
slowed the bleed is still a bull case when the alternative is zero. BGB printing fee revenue through a 76 percent drawdown separates it from every exchange token that actually died
