  1. ADX 53.3 on a trend this stretched usually means the clean entry is long gone. I bought GT under 7 last year and even I am not adding here.

    1. same boat, bought in the 6s and sitting on it. adding a quarter size near the 8.80 pullback zone feels fine, adding full size at 9.22 with resistance overhead does not

    1. Exactly, the first target barely pays for the risk. The trade only makes sense if you hold for target 2 at 11.00, which needs a clean break of 9.61 first.

    2. the fix is trivial tho, stage entries on the 8.80 retest instead of market buying 9.22 and the R:R flips to something respectable. the signal is fine, the deployment plan is the sloppy part

  2. RSI at 72.3 and they still call it DEPLOY with high conviction? trend is real but entries up here are how you get chopped at the first pullback to 7.32

    1. @gt_since_okx the system only buys RSI 40-75 tho, this is more a hold signal than a fresh entry. subtle but big difference for anyone reading the deploy box and market buying

  3. Been holding GT since the 6.64 support test, the ADX 53 reading matches what im seeing. strong trends tend to stay sticky longer than feels comfortable

  4. 25% of a 12k portfolio into an exchange token with resistance at 9.61 right overhead. Elena is braver than I am, I would wait for the breakout close.

  5. 25.95 to 9.22 and people are excited about a long signal. im long from 7.10 but lets not pretend the drawdown math on this one is friendly

    1. the drawdown is the whole risk model honestly. anything that fell 64 percent from its high needs the position sized like it can do it again, conviction rating or not

      1. cormac is right but thats the whole trend following deal honestly. you eat the 64 pct drawdown retroactively because the system was never holding the top, it exited on the death cross

  6. everyone litigating RSI readings while the actual risk is platform concentration. GT is a leveraged bet on offshore exchange volumes surviving whatever the next regulatory cycle throws at them, the chart is the small part

  7. win rate 48 pct on 44 trades and it still beat buy and hold by 50 points of drawdown. anyone else find the trade count thin for two years?

    1. 44 trades in two years is the uncomfortable part of crossover systems. low sample means that 50 point drawdown edge could just be three lucky exits, i would want a walk forward test before deploying 12k

      1. backtestben42 walk forward is the right ask. 44 trades over 2 years is one regime, GT basically only knew a vol boom. id add the 2022 OI crunch as the holdout and see if the 50pt edge survives

  8. Ran the same crossover logic on exchange tokens in 2021. Works until the platform token decouples from volume, then your 50 day is a lagging anchor. Respect the backtest but I trim into RSI 72.

  9. 3k of a 12k book in a single exchange token is the part i keep rereading. that is not a trade, that is a beta bet on the platform, and buybacks can paper over a lot until they suddenly cant

    1. exactly, buybacks funded by fee revenue are only as durable as the volume behind them. one quarter of shrinking derivatives OI and that 3k slice is underwater along with the thesis

  10. 44 trades in two years backing a 50 point drawdown edge is a small sample dressed as proof. walk forward test or size it half

  11. ADX at 53 with MACD positive is a legitimately strong trend read on GT. but far below high is the one bear factor doing real work, deploying 12k into an exchange token that already ran means your entry is late cycle
