rsi at 76.9 and its still a buy with extended entry quality lol. trend following is great until the tape flips, that june tranche ate -22.2% then the system sat out half the move to 3.59
rsi at 76.9 and the verdict is still DEPLOY high conviction lmao. love the confidence but thats screaming overbought at 3.59 with resistance right there at 3.87
That is the whole point of trend following though. RSI can stay pinned above 70 for weeks when ADX is 58.5. Cutting it here is how people missed the entire move off 0.86.
rsi sat above 70 for most of the 0.86 to 3.59 run too. overbought only matters in a range, 3.87 is the actual line in the sand
rsi pinned at 76 is what strong trends look like from the inside. the risk is real at 3.87 resistance tho, half size makes sense
rsi 76.9 is exactly why the engine sizes tranches instead of going all in at 3.59. half positions below the 3.87 line is the overbought hedge built into the deployment itself
the backtest is the funny part. 55 trades, 44% win rate, -1.8% total while buy and hold did +69.3%. though that last trade, bought 1.97 in august and sold 3.76 yesterday, +91.4%. one trade did all the work
@backtest doubter upthread, thats kinda the whole point of trend systems, you eat small losses until the big one runs. also dca 12 buys beat lump sum here, 112.8 vs 111.1, basically a coin flip. just buy when you get paid
the aug 1.97 to 3.76 leg being basically all of the returns is the trend following pitch in one table. you just eat 54 losers to get it
one trade doing all the work is literally the pitch. you just have to be in the chair when the 1.97 to 3.76 leg happens
the +91.4 percent aug trade paying for 54 losers is why nobody should run a trend system by hand. let the engine eat the bad ones, i just set alerts at 3.87 and 4.10
the backtest table shows strategy -1.8% vs buy and hold +69.3% with a -59.9% max drawdown and the system still says BUY. im supposed to trust the signal over the actual results ok
tranches at 3.59 with resistance at 3.87 is the only sensible read. ADX 58.5 means strong trend, trend systems buy strength, the june tranche is the tax you pay
the june tranche eating -22.2% and still calling it extended entry quality is very honest of the engine honestly
ADX 58.5 at 3.59 with the 52w high up at 8.24. even a partial retrace toward the high is a double from here, worth the june -22.2 percent tax on the way
