  1. system says BUY with high conviction but the 2y backtest returned -4.5% vs +8.4% buy and hold, 38% win rate on 52 trades. and people will still ape the signal lol

    1. @0xliquiditylens trend following always looks bad on a chop asset like AAVE, the -42.8% max drawdown is what kills you holding through the 58 bottom tho

  2. The DCA table is the only honest part here. 12 monthly buys at +14.2% while lump sum a year ago sits at -17.8%. Timing matters less than people think.

  3. HIGH conviction buy from a system whose own 2yr backtest did -4.5% while buy and hold did +8.4%. 38% win rate across 52 trades lol. hard pass on the bot advice

    1. win rate is the wrong lens for trend following, expectancy is what matters. if the winners average +25% while the 120 stop caps losers at a few percent each, 38% wins still prints money. my gripe is the sample: 52 trades over 2 years is thin

    2. its trend following, of course it chops in sideways. that aug 26 buy at 127 riding into 135 is the system actually working. you only see the whipsaws

      1. fair on the aug 26 chop point, but the same system sat out most of the slide from 399 to 58 while buy and hold ate the full -42.8% drawdown. whipsaws are the premium you pay for that insurance

  4. 66% down from the 399 high but holding above the 50d and 200d with a golden cross and RSI at 59. decent tranche entry setup tbh, the 120 stop placement makes sense

  5. nobody mentioning that the golden cross claim depends on the 135 reclaim holding. AAVE funding has flipped positive every day this week, so tranche one here means paying up for entry, not catching a discount
