Shibarium, the layer-2 network underpinning the Shiba Inu ecosystem, has resolved the reorganization issue that disrupted the chain earlier in September, according to an update relayed by longtime community member Mazrael on Sept. 19. The remaining bottleneck is infrastructure provider dRPC, which still has to complete its migration into the network’s new environment.
“Kaal Says Reorg Is Solved”
The update quotes lead developer Kaal Dhairya directly: “Kaal says reorg is solved.” The message added that the only outstanding step is for dRPC to complete the same transition in the new environment. Public reporting reproduced the statement, though detailed technical information explaining the reorg’s cause, duration or affected blocks has not been released.
A separate public statement directly from Dhairya explaining the reorg could not be located in the sources reviewed, so the resolution remains attributed to the update shared through Mazrael. That opacity has frustrated parts of the SHIB community, which has watched the network’s public infrastructure churn through multiple migrations in quick succession.
What the Official Documentation Confirms
While the project has not published a technical post-mortem, Shibarium’s official documentation independently confirms several infrastructure changes. The network’s public RPC setup was replaced in late 2025, retiring older connection endpoints. The current documentation lists rpc.shibarium.shib.io as the main RPC endpoint for chain ID 109, with BONE as the native currency and Shibariumscan as the network explorer.
Node operators received fully rotated Bor and Heimdall peer lists, replacing obsolete infrastructure connection settings. Shibariumscan reindexing reached 53 percent, though community figures were quick to note that number measures explorer indexing progress, not overall network recovery.
Not an Exploit, This Time
The available material does not identify the September 2026 reorg as a new exploit, and no published security notice links it to stolen funds, compromised validator keys or another bridge attack. The lack of technical disclosure means the scope of the reorganization cannot yet be independently measured from the statements released so far.
The distinction matters for SHIB holders. Shibarium suffered a separate security event in September 2025, when an attacker obtained control over enough validator keys to exploit the bridge and remove roughly 2.4 million USD in assets after using a 4.6 million BONE flash loan. Developers responded at the time by restricting functions and securing remaining assets. Any hint of history repeating would carry far more severe consequences than an infrastructure hiccup.
Why Reorgs Matter on an L2
For everyday users, the practical symptoms of a reorg are mundane but annoying: transactions that appeared confirmed later vanish from explorers, balances flicker between old and new values, and any service that reads chain state, from wallets to games to marketplaces, can display contradictory information until the network converges. Exchanges treat reorgs with particular caution because a deposit credited during a reorganized stretch could later disappear, leaving the venue holding the loss.
A reorganization, or reorg, occurs when the chain’s canonical history is rewritten because a competing branch of blocks overtakes the previously accepted one. On a layer-2 network like Shibarium, which relies on Bor for block production and Heimdall for checkpointing to Ethereum, reorgs can produce conflicting transaction states, broken explorer data and exchange deposit complications until the chain settles on a single history.
The rotated peer lists suggest the team treated the incident partly as an infrastructure topology problem, ensuring that node operators reconnect only to current, healthy peers rather than stale endpoints left behind by earlier migrations.
What’s Still Unfinished
Community patience is also a resource that gets spent. Each infrastructure migration without a published technical explanation makes the next incident harder to communicate, because holders have learned that official channels may confirm a fix without confirming what broke. A short post-mortem from the team would cost little and buy credibility for the day something serious does happen on the chain.
dRPC remains the critical open item. Until the provider completes its transition into Shibarium’s new environment, parts of the application ecosystem that depend on its RPC endpoints may continue experiencing degraded or inconsistent access. Neither Mazrael’s update nor the official documentation provides a completion date for the dRPC migration.
For now, the scoreboard reads: reorg fixed, peer lists rotated, explorer reindexing at 53 percent, and one major provider still mid-migration. Shiba Inu’s layer-2 ambition is back on track, but the episode is another reminder of how much invisible infrastructure work separates a meme-adjacent ecosystem from production-grade reliability.
Market snapshot: Bitcoin trades at 85,241 USD, Ethereum at 2,727 USD and Solana at 116.63 USD at the time of writing, per CoinGecko data from 12:55 UTC.
“Kaal says reorg is solved” is apparently the entire proof. no block data, no root cause, just a quote relayed through Mazrael
and the fix means nothing until dRPC finishes its migration, so Shibarium dapps are still running on half migrated infra
third migration in a month and zero technical details released. the transparency here is rough
reorg is fixed because kaal says so lmao. no postmortem, no block numbers, no timeline. shib dev updates are pure vibes
one quote relayed through a community member and were calling it fixed. brother
Fair that the fix came fast, but the dRPC migration still being unfinished means half the RPC traffic runs on the old environment. That is where the next incident comes from.
^ this. stale rpc endpoints mid migration is basically how the sept reorg happened in the first place
the dRPC bit matters more than ppl think. wallets feeding off stale RPCs is how you get double spend panics, ask anyone who bridged during the sept outage
dRPC holding up the whole migration a week after the fix is a bad look for a chain that calls itself production ready
my bone bag been underwater since the reorg news hit. at least blocks are final again, ill take the small wins
