    1. 7 bull vs 1 bear and the one bear is truncated lol. still, price above both moving averages with a golden cross and rising obv is about as clean as stage 2 gets

  1. 61% on the Sep 9 leg and the system was back in at 22.63 the very next day. This engine trades better than I do, honestly.

  2. +773% in a year and the backtest only beat buy and hold by 10 points with a -47% drawdown somewhere in there. holding VVV through that took real nerves

    1. -47% drawdown to beat hold by 10 points is a lot of pain for a participation trophy. Somebody held through that, the backtest sure didnt

      1. -47 percent is the backtest number, imagine what raw hold did over the same window. beating hold by 10 points while dodging half the pain is the actual pitch

    1. per the trade log the macd flipped bullish two days before that sep 9 leg. waiting for confirmation here just means buying 20 percent higher

  3. Entry at 28 with stop at 25.30 feels tight for something that moves 4.86% a day on ATR. one bad candle and youre out

    1. wider stop means smaller size though, thats the actual tradeoff. 25.30 on a name moving 4.86% a day is like two candles of noise

      1. the 12k risk cap makes the size decision for you. two candles of noise at 4.86 atr is just the toll, and the sep 9 log shows the engine re-enters same day anyway

      2. exactly this. people see 773 percent backtest and forget position size is the actual variable. same system with a 23 stop and half size probably keeps the edge and lets you sleep

    2. ^ same thought, that stop is less than one ATR away. first wick to 25 bucks takes you out then it runs to 31

      1. thats exactly what happened on the sep 9 leg, shakeout then 61 percent in weeks. id trail the stop up on strength instead of widening it and hoping

        1. trailing on strength is the move. the sep 9 shakeout would have taken a static 25.30 stop then rallied 61 percent without you

      2. hana is right though, 25.30 is 9.7 percent away on something doing 4.86 a day. that stop survives maybe two sessions before a routine wick takes it. i would run half size at 24 stop instead

    3. so size down like runesand said, or drop the stop to 24 flat. the whole point of the 12k cap is surviving being wrong twice on a name moving 4.86 percent a day

    4. or size down and keep the 25.30 stop. the plan caps risk at 12k either way, tight stop with small size is just an opinion with a receipt

    5. one ATR stops on a stage 2 name is how you turn a winner into a fee generator. the sep 9 shakeout took exactly that stop then ran 61 percent without the buyers

      1. this. the sep 9 wick took exactly one atr worth of stop and then ran 61 percent without the buyers. same math applies to 25.30 today

      2. sep 9 is the whole argument for trailing instead of a static 25.30. keep the 12k risk cap and still dont donate the position to one wick

        1. trailing after the sep 9 lesson is the only version of this plan id run. static stops on a 4.86 atr name are just donations with extra steps

  4. backtest beats hold by 10 points but you still eat the full -47 percent on the way. the sep 9 entry at 22.63 is doing most of the heavy lifting in that equity curve
