Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate

30% off the high and ADX at 39, trend is real. xmr never announces itself, it just grinds
grinds is right, bought at 540 last week and its just been sideways with a slow bleed up lol
sideways with a slow bleed up is genuinely the most xmr move possible. no volume, no drama, then one day it is 15% higher and everyone asks when that happened
every time lol. xmr does nothing for months then rips the whole move in two candles while everyone was watching the btc chart instead
monero at 554 while btc rips is the most predictable thing in crypto. privacy coins always play catchup late cycle
this. XRM moves like a delayed echo of the whole market, almost set your watch by it
privacy catchup is real, xmr slept through the entire q3 btc run. when it finally moves it does the whole move in two weeks
-30% off the 798 high and its still labelled Stage 2 uptrend? generous reading of that chart tbh
stage labels aside, 798 to 554 on zero fundamental change is just beta doing beta things
Stage labels track structure, not drawdown. A 30 percent pullback that keeps printing higher lows is still stage 2, annoying but true
Support at 485 is the line that matters. Below that this BUY thesis falls apart fast.
It held 485 twice already this year though. Id rather trust that than the 200d down at 394
this. double bottoms at 485 with the 200d so far away says the market has already picked its level. everything else is noise until that breaks
third test of 485 and it held again. as long as that line stands the stage 2 label is defensible tbh
485 is the line until it isnt. if that level goes the next magnet really is the 200d down at 394 and the BUY card ages terribly
485 to 394 is a 19 percent hole, no thanks. but as long as 485 holds the stage 2 read is fine, the whole risk box lives in one level
the BUY card ages terribly framing assumes the 200d is some magnet. plenty of stage 2 trends bottom 20 percent above it and never look back
xmr sitting at 554 while btc trades 83k is the usual lag trade. the moment the privacy bid comes back this gaps to 600 and everyone pretends they were positioned the whole time
bought the last local top near 480 lol. seeing BUY at 554 hurts in a very personal way
same, aped near 475 right before the wick down. only comfort is the backtest has a 46% win rate and still printed +26%, system clearly does not need perfect entries
46 percent win rate is the part that should scare people more than the drawdown. you need iron stomach discipline to run a system that loses more than half its trades, most commenters here would capitulate by trade five
thats literally the deal with trend following though. 46 pct win rate with +26 pct backtest means you eat ten small losses to pay for two big winners. the system does not need you to win often, it needs you to still be there when the 3R trade shows up
xmr at 554 with btc grinding 83k, the lag trade writes itself. problem is the lag has lasted since q3 and opportunity cost is also a position
485 has held three times now, at some point the third test is the signal itself. 394 feels like a level for a completely different market
three tests is the signal until the fourth breaks it. that said 485 holding while btc chopped 85 to 80 is quietly stronger than people credit
