A Dozen Tokenized Stocks Are Now Trading in Real Size on Robinhood Chain — And the Memecoins Are Finally Losing

When Robinhood launched its own blockchain less than two weeks ago, the headlines wrote themselves: the company built infrastructure for tokenized stocks, and speculators immediately flooded in to trade memecoins instead. But now the tide is turning. Real-world assets on Robinhood Chain have jumped fivefold in value, and a dozen tokenized stocks are each clearing over half a million dollars in daily volume — proof that the tokenization revolution might actually be arriving.

The Hook: From Joke to Genuine Market in Two Weeks

Robinhood Chain launched with an ambitious pitch: put real stocks, real commodities, and real financial instruments on a blockchain so anyone can trade them anytime, anywhere. The reality was initially very different. When the chain went live, its busiest market was CASHCAT — a memecoin built around Robinhood’s abandoned original name. Speculative tokens dominated activity while the tokenized equities the chain was built for sat largely ignored.

That narrative is rapidly changing. According to data from DefiLlama, real-world assets on Robinhood Chain now carry an active market value of approximately 70 million — a roughly fivefold jump from the low tens of millions just two weeks ago, when RWAs represented a mere 4 percent of the network’s total activity.

The shift is not just about total value. Individual tokenized stocks are now trading at genuine scale. GameStop leads the pack with 26.6 million in daily volume, followed by Nvidia at 14 million and SpaceX at 6.4 million. Twelve tokenized stocks are now each clearing more than 500,000 in daily volume, with five surpassing the 1 million mark.

On-Chain Evidence: The Numbers Behind the Surge

The data tells a story of a platform finding its footing after a rocky start:

  • Total value locked — roughly tripled since mid-July to approximately 312 million, per DefiLlama
  • Daily DEX volume — exceeding 600 million, placing Robinhood Chain among the most active networks in crypto
  • 30-day transaction count — more than 138 million, according to Token Terminal
  • Tokenized stock volume — approximately 55 million daily across all equities combined
  • RWA market value — about 70 million, up from low tens of millions two weeks ago

The original CASHCAT memecoin — which spiked more than 1,700 percent after CEO Vlad Tenev followed its social media account — is now down about 75 percent from its peak. Several real equities have taken its place in the volume rankings.

But it is not all smooth sailing. On DEX Screener, the top trending tokens on Robinhood Chain are still dominated by memecoins with names like “Hoodrat,” “Vladhood,” and “Swole Doge.” The tokenized stocks trade on Unispoon but rank well below the speculative tokens in overall volume. The roughly 55 million in daily equity volume represents under a tenth of the chain’s nearly 600 million in total DEX trading.

The Core Conflict: Can Tokenization Outgrow the Casino?

Robinhood Chain’s experience captures the fundamental tension in crypto markets today. The technology to put real financial assets on blockchains exists and works. But the same infrastructure that enables tokenized stocks also enables zero-cost speculation — and speculation is what crypto-native users have historically preferred.

The critique three weeks ago was harsh: Robinhood had built expensive blockchain infrastructure and attracted only speculation, with little sign that the tokenized-stock business would actually materialize. The CASHCAT saga was particularly embarrassing — the company’s own CEO accidentally amplified a memecoin referencing Robinhood’s discarded original name, sending its price soaring before it crashed.

That business is now materializing. Tens of millions of dollars in real-world assets are live on the chain. A dozen equities are trading in genuine size. But the scale of speculative activity remains overwhelming. Stablecoins remain the single largest presence on the chain, with a combined market value in the hundreds of millions. Memecoins still dominate the trending lists and the overall volume charts.

The question is whether the tokenized stock business will eventually overtake the speculation — or whether it will remain a small island of real financial activity in a sea of speculation. Robinhood’s original vision was to bring millions of retail investors onchain to trade real assets. The data suggests that vision is starting to take hold, but it has a long way to go.

Market Implications: What Tokenized Stocks Mean for Regular Investors

For everyday investors, the growth of tokenized stocks on platforms like Robinhood Chain represents both opportunity and risk:

  • Fractional ownership — Tokenized stocks can be bought in tiny fractions, meaning you do not need thousands of dollars to buy a single share of Nvidia or SpaceX.
  • Round-the-clock trading — Unlike traditional stock markets that close on weekends and overnight, tokenized stocks on Robinhood Chain trade 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Self-custody risk — When you hold tokenized stocks, you are responsible for your own wallet security. Lose your private keys and you lose your investment entirely.
  • Smart contract risk — These tokens rely on blockchain code. If there is a bug or exploit in the underlying contract, your investment could be wiped out instantly.
  • Regulatory uncertainty — It remains unclear how regulators will treat tokenized stocks long-term. A crackdown could make these markets illegal overnight.

The Verdict: Tokenization Is Winning — But Slowly

The fivefold surge in real-world assets on Robinhood Chain is unambiguously good news for the tokenization thesis. It proves that when given the chance, real investors will use blockchain infrastructure to trade real financial products — not just memes and speculative tokens.

But the pace of that shift remains frustratingly slow for tokenization advocates. Memecoins and stablecoins still dominate the chain. The tokenized stock business, while growing rapidly from a tiny base, still represents less than 10 percent of total activity. The original vision — millions of retail users trading real equities onchain — is visible on the horizon but has not yet arrived.

Robinhood is building toward a future where it brings its millions of casual retail customers onchain. If it succeeds, the tokenized stock market could explode in size. If it fails, or if regulators step in first, the chain could remain what it is today: a vibrant marketplace where speculation vastly outweighs substance, but where substance is finally — slowly — starting to grow.

    1. rwa_decimalist

the fact that real stocks are beating memes on a brand new chain says everything about where this market is going

  2. robinhood building their own chain instead of using solana or base was the right call. control your own rails

  3. gme_degen_2021

GameStop leading Robinhood Chain volume at 26.6M daily. some things never change. apes found the blockchain

  4. remember when CASHCAT was the top token on Robinhood Chain? that lasted about 4 days lmao. actual stocks winning is the boring but correct outcome

  5. 138M transactions in 30 days is massive for a chain that launched 2 weeks ago. either real adoption or the most aggressive bot farming operation of 2026
