Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
RSI at 54.6 and MACD positive but they still call it a SELL with high conviction. the trend system really doesnt care about your momentum candles lol
thats kind of the whole point of trend following. stage 4 downtrend means you dont catch knives hoping for a bounce at 9.04
the system shorts a positive MACD and everyone calls it a bug. its the feature. LEO bled 13% while the rest of the market chopped sideways
LEO bled 13% while BTC did +33% over 6 months yeah. holding this through the MACD positive signals wouldve been the actual bug
trend systems sell strength into resistance all day, 50d and 200d overhead is exactly when they stop caring about your MACD cross lol
trend systems selling strength straight into 50d and 200d overhead is the whole method, not a bug. leo barely moves unless bitfinex prints a buyback headline anyway
barely moves without a buyback headline is the whole thesis for the short honestly. low vol both ways until bitfinex prints news
-13% off the high and they want zero exposure. bit harsh but honestly LEO barely moves unless Bitfinex does a buyback so the patience makes sense
buyback cannon is the only real bid in that order book tho. no burn announcement and 9.04 doesnt hold by itself
exactly this. every LEO rally of the last two years has been buyback-shaped. remove the cannon and you are holding an exchange token with no float and no narrative. 9.04 is just where the bid sits today, not real support
agree on the buyback bid. worth remembering the burn schedule is discretionary too, they can just quietly pause it
the burn being discretionary is the hidden risk nobody prices. one quiet pause announcement and that mapped 8.63 floor is a memory
pause is unlikely while bitfinex needs the token story alive, but one bad quarter and discretionary becomes optional real fast
theyve never actually paused it tho, burns kept printing straight through the 2022 drawdown. betting against bitfinex being consistent with LEO has been a losing trade for a decade
a decade of consistent burns is the track record yeah. only question is whether the next drawdown tests it, leo bled 13% while everything else rallied
13% drawdown on an exchange token and the system still maps support at 8.63. at least the bear factors are honest, 50d and 200d both sitting overhead
8.63 support on a token that only moves on buyback announcements feels generous. stage 4 downtrends deserve less faith in mapped floors
