Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
a system that lost 31.9% while buy and hold only lost 30.5%, and the verdict is still HOLD with low conviction lol. 73 trades at a 32% win rate is just churning
^ basically. ADX at 12.8 means theres no trend to follow so the crossover just whipsaws. only thing worth watching here is whether 0.78 support holds
churning is the right word for it. 73 trades to lose 1.4% more than doing nothing, fees and slippage ate whatever edge the crossover had
Worth pointing at the DCA table: 4 buys did -9.3% while lump sum did +4.2% over the same year. And the plan still says deploy in 3 tranches. Bold choice.
the stop at 0.79 sitting just above 0.78 support is the smart part of the plan imo. tight, but it respects the level instead of hoping
the 0.79 stop looks clean on paper but one wick through 0.78 and youre stopped right before the bounce. I would drop it to 0.765 and size down instead
Good catch on the DCA table. Lump sum at 0.80 a year ago beats the tranches even now, though buying at 0.84 with support at 0.78 is at least a tighter risk
down 46% from the 1.55 high and the call is still HOLD instead of SELL. I get the 0.78 support logic, but if that level goes the next leg is ugly. small tranche 1 and reassess at 0.90 works for me
WAIT with 3 bull and 4 bear factors is the only honest call here. pinned under 0.90 resistance with ADX at 12.8, this is a nothing chart until one of those levels gives way
agreed on the ADX 12.8 read, though once 0.90 finally breaks these crossover systems flip fast. set the alert there and ignore everything below it until then
