79.5% off the high and its a BUY because price cleared two moving averages. token round tripped from 2.14 to 0.44, trend following gonna trend follow i guess
resistance is literally at 0.44 which is where its trading. the whole thesis is the breakout above the upper band on 2.25x volume, you either trust that print or you dont
resistance sitting AT the current price is the funny part, entry and breakout level are the same number. either it clears on 2.25x volume or the thesis is dead
entry sitting right at resistance is my favorite kind of setup, zero ambiguity. first tranche is basically a lottery ticket on the volume print
entry at the same number as the breakout trigger is the whole gamble. 2.25x volume print shows up or this chops back into the 0.30s
if it chops back into the 0.30s the second tranche just sits there while you watch it bleed. thats the actual cost of staging nobody mentions
same, 2.25x volume print or nothing. without that print youre just buying resistance with extra steps
you dont trust the print, thats the point. DCA backtest beating lump sum by 16.9% is the only part of this thesis built for a token that round tripped 2.14 to 0.44. breakout call is a coin flip, the staging is the edge
where did you pull 16.9% from, does the backtest window cover the full round trip? if it only measures the drawdown leg then yeah dca wins trivially
fair question, pretty sure the backtest window covers the full round trip which is why DCA wins. would love the exact dates in the report too
report says the window starts at the 2.14 top so it covers the full round trip. but yeah dca winning that leg is almost tautological, good catch
also the 25% cash buffer turns the 0.30s chop scenario into a feature, third tranche fills lower and the avg entry improves. staging is the whole game here
buffer only works if you actually deploy the third tranche in the 0.30s. most people freeze and watch it bleed from the sidelines
staging is the entire edge on a 79.5% drawdown token, agreed. breakout calls on ondo are noise, sizing is the only controllable part
2.14 to 0.44 and back above both averages is the only signal that exists for a trend system, at least its consistent. still sizing small with that drawdown history
trend following IS the thesis tho, the 16.9% dca edge over lump sum is the only number here that survived a backtest. breakout is just the trigger
careful calling the signal the thesis, the trend backtest itself finished at -42.5% with a 38% win rate over 53 trades. the dca edge is real but the system youre defending bled out half the account
minus 42.5 percent on the trend side and people still quote the breakout trigger like its the trade. the dca math is the only defensible part of the report
the DCA backtest is the part i care about, 12 buys beat lump sum by 16.9%. staging in 2 tranches with a 25% cash buffer makes sense for something still this far off its high
sizing into 0.44 in staged tranches after a 79.5% drawdown at least admits the risk. if the 2.25x volume breakout fails im glad my first buy is only a quarter of the 10k
25% cash buffer on a 10k deployment is the most honest part of the whole report. most breakout calls pretend the invalidation level doesnt exist
first tranche at 0.44 right under the trigger, basically the same bet with a receipt. sizing into a 79 percent drawdown token is the only edge here
16.9 percent dca edge on a token that fell 79.5 percent is more a property of the round trip than real edge. still, staging 10k into 0.44 beats yeeting it at the highs
Fair, but lump sum at 2.14 was the alternative being sold last cycle. Staging into a 79.5% drawdown is the only version of this that survives contact with reality.
38 percent win rate, minus 42.5 on the trend side, and the headline still screams BUY. the staging math is fine, the packaging is doing too much
