Bitcoin

Treasury Companies Are Unwinding — and Bitcoin Couldn't Care Less

The corporate Bitcoin treasury experiment is falling apart. Companies that loaded up on BTC with debt at the top — near $126K in October 2025 — are now selling, restructuring, or walking away entirely as shares collapse. At least nine public firms have fully exited.

The Data: Bitcoin is down ~50% from its ATH, yet it's holding firm at $64,834 with a $1.3T market cap. According to VanEck's head of digital assets research, several treasury companies have exited crypto entirely or substantially reduced holdings. Strategy itself sold 3,588 BTC to service debt. And still — BTC didn't flinch.

The Takeaway: Forced selling from leveraged treasury holders is being absorbed without a price impact. That means the marginal seller is exhausted and demand at these levels is real. This is the stress test that separates diamond hands from debt-laden pretenders.

📡 Signal vs. Noise

🟢 Ethereum is outperforming Bitcoin 3:1
🟢 ETH surged 4.5% to ~$1,969 while BTC inched up just 1.7%. Solana, Chainlink, even Pepe followed suit. When ETH moves independently and faster than BTC, it's historically the first domino of altcoin season. Watch if ETH holds above $1,950 through the Fed decision.
🟢 BlackRock's tokenization partner Securitize gets SEC adviser license
🟢 This isn't a prototype — Securitize now has the same federal registration as wealth management firms and hedge funds. BlackRock ($10T+ AUM) chose them to build BUIDL on Ethereum. Tokenized stocks, bonds, and real estate are now a regulated reality.
🟢 Altcoin ETFs absorbed $1.25B while Bitcoin ETFs bled $8.2B
🟢 Solana ETFs hold ~$904M; Hyperliquid ETFs hit $350M since May launch. That's $1.25B flowing into two altcoins most institutions ignored — during the exact 8-week window BTC was supposedly in crisis. Smart money isn't leaving crypto, it's rotating.
🟢 Lido overhauls $16.5B in staked ETH — operators must post bonds
🟢 The largest staking protocol is consolidating ~8M ETH under fewer, accountable operators — and for the first time, requiring them to put their own money on the line. Good for security, but watch for reduced competition potentially squeezing staking rewards.
🔴 Thailand accuses Bitkub of concealing $50M hack
🔴 The hack itself happened in May 2021 — the "news" is the regulator's accusation five years later. While it validates long-standing concerns about exchange transparency in Southeast Asia, it has zero impact on global price action or NFT infrastructure. Sensational headline, limited signal.
🟢 Circle buys 1,000 IBM blockchain patents
🟢 This is not a stablecoin company anymore. The portfolio covers banking infrastructure, insurance processing, and cloud security. Circle is building the financial plumbing for the next generation of digital commerce — and positioning as an infrastructure player, not just an issuer.

🔢 By the Numbers

$1.25B — Combined inflows into Solana and Hyperliquid ETFs during BTC's 8-week outflow streak
Smart money rotated into altcoins while retail panicked over Bitcoin ETF redemptions.

56.5% — Bitcoin's share of total crypto market cap
Still dominant, but ETH at 10.2% is gaining — the gap narrows when altcoin season whispers start.

64% — 24h surge in total crypto trading volume
Volume spiked to $63.3B as traders position ahead of the Fed, big tech earnings, and Coinbase results all landing this week.

📊 Chart of the Day

BTC 7-Day Price Action
BTC 7-Day Price Action
BTC over the last 7 days — compressed volatility ahead of a loaded calendar week.
💡 Analysis: BTC is coiling in a tight $63K–$66K range with diminishing volatility — a classic compression pattern before a major catalyst. With the Fed decision Wednesday and Coinbase earnings Thursday, expect this coil to snap violently in either direction by end of week.

👀 What to Watch

The Fed Decision (Wednesday): If Powell signals a dovish tilt, expect BTC to break $66K resistance and test $70K rapidly. A hawkish hold could trigger a wick to $62K before recovery.

Coinbase + Strategy Earnings (Thursday): Coinbase revenue will reveal whether trading volume is recovering. Strategy's report will show if they've stopped selling BTC — if they announce another treasury reduction, expect short-term bearish pressure.

ETH at $1,970: If ETH closes a daily candle above $2,000, it confirms the 3x outperformance thesis and opens room to $2,200. Below $1,900 and the altcoin rotation narrative dies fast.

Senate CLARITY Act: The revised crypto bill preserves developer protections and adds law enforcement tools. A Senate vote could come within weeks — watch for committee scheduling announcements that could move DeFi tokens.

P.S. Nine public companies have fully exited their Bitcoin treasuries — and the price didn't move. Does that mean the bottom is in, or is the real selling pressure still coming? Hit reply and tell us which side you're on.
