+57.4% backtest over 2 years sounds nice until you see 64 trades at a 53% win rate. on a 15k account the fees and slippage on 64 round trips eat a big chunk of that edge
^ exactly. 1-2% each way retail fees and suddenly your trend system is a fee donation program. the signal is fine, the math on small size isnt
42.9% off the high at 1370 and the system still calls BUY. respect the discipline but that drawdown column hurts to look at
stage 2 trend following doesn’t care where the high was tho. you’d have bought ETH at a 60% drawdown in 2023 and done fine
the 2023 eth comp is fair but bnb still needs the 808 flip first. until then 704 is just a level people pray at
808 is the line, agreed. Until that flips every entry below it is range farming with extra steps.
808 is the level but the 50d at 732 climbing toward it changes the math. a squeeze between those two lines resolves soon
the gap between the 50d at 732 and 808 is one violent candle wide. someone is getting squeezed hard either direction soon
704 prayer line is accurate lol. flip 808 and every take changes overnight, until then this is chop therapy
782 holding above the 50d at 732 is nice but the MACD- is the one thing bugging me here. everything else screams uptrend
macd lags hard on trend rotations, adx at 29.7 says the trend is real. i’d trust that over one lagging crossover
29.7 is barely trending territory tho, right on the frontier between chop and trend. if adx keeps climbing from here the macd bearish cross loses its weight fast
BNB at 782 vs a 1370 high, that is a 43% drawdown, and the system still says deploy. respect sticking to the rules but the MACD bearish flag makes me want to wait for the 808 break first
waiting for the 808 break means buying at 820+ after the move is confirmed. the whole point of the 704 support line is taking entries like this one, macd lag and all
DCA 12 buys turning 15k into 16,498 while lump sum from a year ago sits at 8,961. lump sum only wins when you nail the entry and basically nobody does
the lump sum landing at 8,961 hurts to read. dca12 at 16,498 isnt sexy but its the version that survives a bad entry
support 704, resistance 808. wide enough to trade, tight enough to matter
15k turned into 16,498 across 12 dca buys, that is 10% in two years. a money market fund beats that with zero drawdown drama and zero macd signals
10% over two years with drawdown drama is the honest read. the system optimizes for discipline, alpha is a bonus
fair on the 10% but the point is the rules kept you in the market. its a discipline product, alpha was never the pitch
704 support with the 50d at 732 means the gap is one red candle wide. tight risk definition at least
15k into 16,498 across twelve buys reads boring until you see lump sum from a year ago at 8,961. the discipline premium is 7,500 dollars
7500 for not having to time a lump sum in a 43 percent drawdown is honestly cheap insurance
the squeeze between 732 and 808 resolves before month end imo. adx climbing toward 30 off a 704 base rarely stays quiet
Ines B. if adx keeps climbing off the 704 base the squeeze resolves up by itself. the 732 to 808 gap is violent but it resolves toward trend more often than not
