2429 from a 4953 high and the call is still HOLD with a full 30k deployment plan? respect the conviction but my stomach says ladder in slower
that 4953 high feels like a lifetime ago. at least the plan is written down, most people just wing it
-51% drawdown and they still call it HOLD. stage 1 bottoming is doing a lot of heavy lifting there
the backtest did +36.3% with a -22.6% max drawdown riding the same crossover rules, so HOLD with staged entries is basically the system working as designed
+36.3% backtest is one sample though. same crossover rules on the 2021 top would have eaten a 30k plan alive. staged entries fine, but the system is not magic
a one sample backtest is astrology with a spreadsheet, but the 12 buy dca table at +4.3% is the honest number in the whole piece
run those crossover rules on the 2021 top instead and the starter at 2429 becomes the top tick of the whole 30k plan. one sample is one sample
the 2021 top also destroyed anyone who lump summed at 4800. the ladder lets you be early and wrong once, both samples agree on that
one sample backtest is fair criticism but the 2021 top would have cut the lump sum in half too. staged entries are the only part that survives both worlds
2429 vs the 4953 high is rough. but honestly if this is a bottom it is the cheapest ETH has looked in a long while
^ calling a bottom is how i became a bagholder in 2022. waiting for at least a reclaim of the 50d before i trust stage 1
50d sits at 2555 so that reclaim is like a 5% climb from here. taking a starter tranche at 2429 and adding on the reclaim makes more sense than sitting out imo
starter at 2429 then add on the 2555 reclaim is the only part that matches the low conviction tag. 3 bull vs 6 bear factors says wait, not buy
@sixofseven_ 3 bull vs 6 bear and the verdict is HOLD with a starter tranche. the honest label is WAIT with a limit order parked at 2429 in case the market makes the decision for you
Starter tranche plus staged adds is still a plan, not a yolo. 3 bull factors against 6 bear just means the ladder starts lower and slower.
@candlewick_z a starter at 2429 plus add on the 2555 reclaim is just dollar cost averaging with extra rules. not wrong, just not the system the +36% backtest is selling
the drawdown math here is brutal but ETH at 2429 with a staged deployment makes more sense than the 4k fomo buys last year
the dca table is the real story, 12 buys at +4.3% vs lump sum at +33.3% over the same year. everyone swears by dca until you show them the numbers side by side
the 4.3 vs 33.3 comparison is brutal but the frame is wrong, dca buys the chance to be wrong 11 times and survive. lump sum is one coin flip
12 buys at 4.3 vs 33.3 lump sum ignores that most people lump sum at the fomo top. dca is insurance priced at opportunity cost
3 bull and 6 bear factors and they still lay out a full 30k deployment plan. the WAIT banner is doing more work than the HOLD call here
2429 with RSI 38 and the verdict is Stage 1 bottoming. the 200d held all year, its the only line on this chart doing any work
the 200d doing all the work is exactly why the starter stays small. you buy the hold with a ladder in case the line finally breaks
verdict is HOLD with a starter tranche while eth literally sits at 2429. the label and the ladder are disagreeing with each other
the starter tranche is the hedge against being wrong about waiting. the plan disagreeing with itself is the most honest part of it
label says hold, ladder says conviction is thin, both can be honest. what i want is the invalidation level. 2429 without an im wrong below X number is a vibe, not a plan
