This NFT Mint Refunds Every Losing Ticket: Inside Moku Pupkins Gen 0 Raffle on October 27

NFT launches usually make you gamble your money and pray. Moku’s upcoming Pupkins Gen 0 mint is trying something different: a no-loss raffle where losing tickets get their deposits refunded — and each winning NFT doubles as a wallet stuffed with tokenized stocks.

The Hook: A Mint Where You Cannot Lose Your Deposit

Crypto gaming studio Moku confirmed this week that the Pupkins Gen 0 mint goes live on October 27 at 11 a.m. ET, announced in a thread on X on October 16. Instead of the usual first-come-first-served gas war, Moku is running it as a no-loss raffle priced in SCHIFFY, the project’s native token. Every ticket that does not win gets its deposit back in full.

For regular investors burned by mint manias — where people pay steep fees only to watch floor prices crater — the structure is the polar opposite. You either win a box of NFTs or you get your money back. The only real cost is having your deposit locked until refunds go out, which Moku says will happen within a week of the raffle closing.

On-Chain Evidence: How the Raffle Actually Works

The numbers behind the drop, laid out in Moku’s announcement:

  • 2,000 Boxes total — each box contains two Pupkins NFTs
  • 1,800 boxes offered through the raffle; the other 200 are reserved for partnerships and treasury
  • No ticket limit — every multiple of the ticket price adds one more entry
  • Weighted draw — odds improve based on how many tickets you bought, how many Mokis and SCHIFFY tokens you hold, and how early you deposited
  • Refunds within a week of the raffle closing, for every losing ticket

The ticket price itself has not been set yet. Moku said the SCHIFFY cost per ticket “will be announced closer to mint.” The studio walked through the math with an example: if a ticket costs 10,000 SCHIFFY and you deposit 50,000 SCHIFFY for five tickets, winning three boxes would mean 20,000 SCHIFFY comes back to you with your prizes.

The Core Conflict: Collectible or Stock Portfolio?

Here is the twist that separates Pupkins from ten thousand other cartoon NFTs. Each Pupkin NFT works as a wallet that holds tokenized stock and SCHIFFY. Think of it like a sealed trading card that also has a bank account glued to the back — the breed of the Pup determines which stocks it carries inside.

“Trade the Pup and the stocks go with it. Unwrap the Pup and you’ll get the assets inside,” Moku explained in its announcement. In plain terms: sell the NFT on a marketplace and the buyer inherits whatever portfolio is packaged in it, or crack it open yourself and take the contents. Moku pitched it as a way to “start building your own tokenized stock portfolio.”

Gen 0 owners also get two perks later generations will never have. First, a cut of breeding fees: any descendant that carries Gen 0 genetics funnels a share of breeding fees back up the family tree. Second, pure traits — Gen 0 Pups carry clean genetic lines, giving early holders more control when breeding the specific Pupkins they want. At launch, Pupkins are usable in Battle, Farm and Dungeons modes, with a Pup’s traits setting its abilities in each.

Market Implications: A Test of Kinder NFT Economics

The timing is notable. The NFT market is emerging from a brutal shakeout — by some counts fewer than half of the major marketplaces that existed at the peak are still operating, and once-dominant venues are shutting their doors. In that climate, a mint format that refunds losers is less a gimmick and more a survival strategy: it removes the fear that stops cautious buyers from participating at all.

For SCHIFFY, the design creates demand with a built-in safety net. To enter, you must buy and deposit the token; to improve your odds, you hold more of it. Even refunded deposits mean a burst of temporary buying. Moku listed Uniswap for cross-chain SCHIFFY purchases, along with OpenSea, Fomo and Pump.fun as venues in its orbit.

The Verdict: What This Means for You

If you already hold Mokis or SCHIFFY, October 27 is a genuine event — your holdings directly improve your draw weight, and a refund means the downside is mostly opportunity cost. If you are new, treat the “no-loss” label carefully: the deposit comes back if you lose, but if you win, the value of your Pupkins boxes depends entirely on what the market thinks tokenized-stock-carrying NFTs are worth. A refunded raffle is not the same as a guaranteed profit.

The bigger signal is structural. After years of extractive mint mechanics, projects that protect participants — refunds over gas wars, transparency over stealth drops — are the ones rebuilding trust in a shrunken market. Watch whether Pupkins’ refund raffle becomes a template others copy. That, more than any single drop, would be the real story for NFT investors.

  1. a mint where every losing ticket gets refunded and the winning nft is literally a wallet holding tokenized stocks? ok, now im listening

  2. Refunding losers in SCHIFFY is clever, but notice the deposit never leaves the token. You still ride its price while you wait for the Oct 27 draw. Better than a gas war though.

    1. ^ same question i had. my guess is refunds hit after the draw settles, not instantly at 11am. hoping someone from moku clarifies before the 27th

  3. no-loss raffle sounds great until you do the math on SCHIFFY moving 20% while your deposit sits in escrow for a week. nothing is ever free, but fine, it beats paying gas to lose

  4. a mint with no gas war, wild. refunds are nice but youre still locking SCHIFFY for up to a week, thats the hidden cost nobody prices in

  5. The tokenized stocks part is what stands out. If each Pupkin is basically a wallet holding equities, the floor has actual backing instead of pure jpeg vibes.

    1. sure, but who prices the stocks inside the nft? if its their own feed that is a trust assumption worth questioning before oct 27
