Trend-Following Backtest
2-year simulation on a notional USD 30,000 starting balance using the model’s 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter. The model goes long when price is above a rising 50d MA with RSI 40-75, and goes flat on a death cross or RSI above 82. Hypothetical, before fees and slippage.
Strategy vs Buy & Hold
| Asset | Strategy | Buy & Hold | Max DD | Trades | Win Rate |
| U | -0.2% | -0.1% | -0.2% | 13 | 0% |
DCA vs Lump Sum (U)
Hypothetical result of a notional USD 30,000 placed one year ago under different timing schedules. Simulation only, not a recommendation.
| Strategy | Return | Value Today |
| Lump Sum (1y ago) | -0.1% | USD 29,978 |
| DCA — 4 buys | +0.0% | USD 30,000 |
| DCA — 6 buys | -0.0% | USD 29,993 |
| DCA — 12 buys | +0.0% | USD 30,003 |
Levels the system watches
Reference levels used by the trend model to classify U. They describe how the model reads the chart, not what anyone should do.
| Support (recent swing low) | USD 0.9980 |
| Resistance (recent swing high) | USD 0.9996 |
| Trend model’s invalidation level (ATR-based) | USD 0.9989 (-0.1% from current price) |
| ATR (14) | USD 0.000300 (0.03%/day) |
| Price location vs trend (model label) | Midrange |
The invalidation level is where the model would stop treating the current trend reading as valid (roughly 2x ATR below price or 0.5x ATR below the recent swing low, whichever is lower). It is a model parameter, not a stop-loss recommendation.

Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate · Backtests are hypothetical and exclude fees.
a full trend model writeup for a coin that moved 0.0% in a month. that ADX of 10.6 says everything
13 trades with a 0% win rate on a stablecoin might be my favorite backtest ever. fees did all the damage
what signal even fires on a 0.0% move though, MACD crossing by 0.0001? somebody paid the spread 13 times to learn that fees exist
right? the ADX at 10.6 basically told the model to stay home. 13 round trips to lose a fraction of a percent on something printing 0.9996 every day, fees are the whole story
and the best part is the Stage 3 Topping label. a stablecoin sitting at 0.9996 is apparently topping. brace for the great 0.04% crash lol
resistance listed at 0.9996 while price IS 0.9996, very helpful chart lol. it pegs to a dollar fam, that is the whole job
