Tomasz W. is right about monolithic chain scaling ceilings. We saw this with Ethereum before rollups — single-chain scaling hits a wall eventually regardless of how optimized the base layer is. Solana’s approach with Firedancer was to push that ceiling as high as possible, but L2s were always going to be necessary for specialized workloads.
