gold token doing gold things. -22.5% off the 5622 high while BTC did +33% over the same window. the safe asset lol
compare it to gold etfs instead of btc and it did its job. you park in PAXG for the carry and the hedge leg, mooning is someone else’s portfolio
@grimes gold bugs would tell you thats the point. its not supposed to keep up with btc in a bull run, its the hedge leg
calling it the safe asset while it tracks gold is the wrong benchmark entirely. against spot bullion it did exactly what it should, -22.5 off the high mirrors the metal
comparing PAXG to BTC over one window and calling it a fail is wild. the whole point is it didnt drawdown 70 percent like everything else did. different tool
the -22.5% vs btc +33% comparison also ignores that PAXG charges no vault storage fees. different tool is exactly the right frame
the hedge leg argument worked great in April. but 1.65 percent daily ATR vs BTCs 5 means the hedge now costs you the whole rally
thats literally the pitch tho. PAXG tracked gold off the 5622 high while BTC ripped, thats the hedge doing its job. hold and collect the gold leg, no need to chase beta
-22.5 percent off 5622 while BTC did +33. and yet it still beat every alt in a drawdown sense. different tool, different job
Stage 3 topping with RSI at 44 and ADX 34.5 makes sense. Trend is grinding down, not crashing. Support at 4020 is the level I would watch before deploying any of that 12k.
4020 agreed. below that the 12k sits in stables, above it you collect the wait. stage 3 grinds longer than anyone expects anyway
1.65% daily vol on a gold-backed token is higher than I expected. Still holds near spot though, the premium logic works even in a topping stage.
the 1.65 percent prints match bullion in a war week, check what brent did yesterday. its tracking the metal almost tick for tick
checked the bullion tape after reading this, tracks within bps most sessions. the 1.65% vol only scares people who expected a savings account
4359 against a 5622 high with 1.65% daily vol on something meant to be boring tells you the premium drifts. still cheaper than vault storage on bars
Premium drift cuts both ways though. On redemption-heavy days PAXG can dip under spot, ask anyone who sold into a thin weekend book.
RSI 44 with ADX still above 30 is textbook grind down. holding the 12k dry until 4020 breaks or reclaims is the only sane read here
4020 or nothing is clean until spot gaps through the level overnight. gold trades around the clock now via tokens, your stop is not as safe as it looks
this. gold trades around the clock through tokens now, a stop at 4020 only works while liquidity actually shows up. weekend gaps on PAXG are real
weekend gaps are the part PAXG newcomers learn the hard way. spot never sleeps but liquidity sure does
4020 is the line but gold tokens drift with bullion more than chart levels. spot makes the decision for you either way
agree on waiting for 4020, but ill add the fee angle. PAXG custody wraps the metal for you, no vault minimums. that alone justifies hold over spot for a 12k stack
a hold plan on something with one line at 4020 is just a limit order with a newsletter attached. fine trade, weird amount of charts for it
limit order with a newsletter, stealing that. but the vault fee angle Ines raised higher up is why i hold PAXG instead of just buying spot gold
price above a rising 50d but below a falling 200d is the textbook definition of no edge. WAIT is the right call, patience is free
