Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate

BGB from 8.49 to 2.03 and the system calls BUY with 8 bull factors. catching a knife with conviction, respect it but im not joining
u say knife, chart says low was 0.64 and we tripled off it. price above both MAs with RSI 64 is textbook stage 2, the death cross is lagging data
the 2y backtest printed -21% vs -52.7% buy and hold with max dd cut almost in half. the system is not calling a bottom, it is calling trend, and 3x off the 0.64 low is trend
Macd bull cross plus OBV accumulation is nice but 30k deployment into an exchange token after what happened to FTT holders in 2022, i will keep my position smaller.
FTT comparison again. BGB has actual buyback burns and revenue, FTX token was collateral fantasy. not the same trade at all
buyback burns are real but they slowed them hard during the drawdown, check the q2 disclosure. revenue argument still holds tho
q2 is also when exchange revenue was weakest, they resumed burns once volumes came back. punting on burn cadence at 2.03 is basically a leveraged bet on volume imo
burns resuming as volumes recover is the argument nobody addresses. exchange tokens are revenue plays, the chart is secondary
q2 disclosure also shows burns funded from revenue not reserves. slowed cadence during a drawdown is just risk management
agreed on the burns point, the quarterly buyback is funded by actual exchange revenue. FTT was backed by FTT. completely different risk profile at 2.03 vs 8.49 too
Position sizing is the honest take here. MACD cross and OBV accumulation mean nothing when the main risk is custodial.
RSI 64 with price over both MAs and people still calling it a knife. we bottomed at 0.64 months ago, different setup entirely
30k into an exchange token with FTT still in living memory takes nerves. at least the buyback math is real this time
39% win rate across 51 trades and the system still clears the backtest. nobody reads that part. also price 2.03 sitting right under resistance 2.06, this either breaks out or chops you at the 50d
39% win rate works because winners run 3x off the 0.64 low while losers get cut at the 50d. trend systems always look ugly on the stat sheet
system says 8 bull factors but the only one that matters is a daily close above 2.06. under that it is all range noise with good statistics
