Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate

stage 3 topping but 6 of 9 factors bullish and ADX at 34.3? the system basically said wait and called it analysis lol
6 bull factors sure, but price is still 100 points under the 200d at 347. trend is trend until it isnt
death cross and price 100 under the 200d but ADX 34.3 counts as strong bull trend. factor soup at its finest lmao
ADX at 34.3 with 6 of 9 bullish is literally the textbook case for sitting on hands. hold isnt a copout, its the correct read when the factors split like that
sitting on hands still costs you the 5.8 percent daily ATR if you already hold the bag. hold is easy advice to give to someone else lol
lmao the hold call is the system admitting it has no idea. been chopping between 199 and 302 for months, hold is the only honest answer left
Holding BCH through a 63% drawdown from 668 takes discipline most of us lack. The 199 support line is the level I am watching.
same, though i would bet 302 resistance gets tested before 199 breaks. ATR alone is 5.8% a day on this thing
5.8% daily ATR against a 216 stop is a coin flip on wicks alone. rather wait for 199 to actually break than eat that chop
302 is the 50% retrace of the entire collapse leg. if that tags before 199 breaks the whole topping thesis is dead on arrival
tagging 302 still needs a weekly close above it tho. every bounce this quarter died right under that retrace line, id want volume confirmation before calling the topping thesis dead
199 has been tested and held every time, thats the only reason my bag has survived this chop lol
a 2 year backtest ending at exactly -0.0% after a -36.9% max drawdown. that is the whole BCH story in one table tbh
and people still put 25% of a 15k portfolio into it. that 216.98 stop better hold, this thing wicks hard
25 percent of a 15k portfolio into a coin that did -0.0% over two years is a choice. i would want the 200d at 347 reclaimed before trusting any stop on this thing
-0.0% over two years being sold as capital preservation is generous framing for something that round tripped 668 to 216
flat over 2 years while ETH did +57% in 3 months. the opportunity cost is the real drawdown nobody backtests for
-36.9% max drawdown to finish flat over two years. that table is the whole argument for just holding cash and checking the chart twice a year
exactly, the -0.0% with a -36.9% max drawdown inside it is brutal. volatility you paid full price for and got nothing
flat after a -36.9% max drawdown is the most efficient pain delivery system i have seen charted
ADX at 34.3 says trend, the flat 2 year chart says range. Price wins the argument. I would range trade 199 to 302 and skip the hold entirely.
you say that until 199 holds for the fourth time and you rebuy 302. everyone in this thread is a range trader with extra steps
range trading it sounds great until the 5.8 daily ATR chews through both stops in a chop week. ADX 34 on a flat chart just means the chop is violent, not trending
range trading 199 to 302 is fine until the range breaks with you on the wrong side. hold at least sleeps at night
ADX 34 with the factors split is the textbook no trade zone. The flat backtest already proved waiting costs you nothing here.
