Bitcoin ETFs Land 998.9 Million USD Inflow Day, Biggest Since October 2025 as Bull-Market Signal Flashes

United States spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds came within a whisker of a billion-dollar day on Monday, recording 998.9 million USD in daily net inflows — their largest single-session haul of 2026 and the strongest showing since October 2025, according to SoSoValue data.

The near-record print narrowly edged out the previous 2026 high of 844 million USD set on January 14, and it landed just shy of the more than 1.2 billion USD that flowed into the funds on October 6, 2025, the last time US spot Bitcoin ETFs crossed the ten-figure threshold. The resurgence marks a sharp reversal in sentiment after a year in which the products had bled assets for stretches at a time.

BlackRock leads as ARK and Fidelity chase

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) once again anchored the rally, pulling in 381 million USD for the session, per Farside Investors data. The ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) delivered its strongest day in months with 289 million USD, while Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) added roughly 239 million USD to round out the top three.

The breadth of the inflows — with three separate issuers each clearing the 200-million-USD mark — suggests the buying was not concentrated in a single institutional mandate but rather reflected broad-based repositioning as Bitcoin’s price structure improved.

Despite the banner day, the longer-term ledger remains mixed. US spot Bitcoin ETFs have still posted approximately 464 million USD in net outflows so far in 2026, meaning Monday’s session alone recovered more than twice the year’s cumulative losses. Asset managers and analysts will be watching whether the momentum holds through the remainder of the week, or whether the print proves to be a one-day wonder in an otherwise choppy allocation cycle.

Bitcoin flirts with 87,000 USD as bull-market signal flashes

The inflow surge accompanied a strong tape. Bitcoin traded around 85,430 USD at the time of publication, up 4.7% over 24 hours and 12.3% over the past month, after briefly pushing above 87,200 USD on Monday — its highest level in months, according to CoinGecko.

CryptoQuant analyst Julio Moreno added a technical stamp to the move, noting that Bitcoin had climbed above its 365-day moving average, which he described as the final signal needed to confirm a new bull market. Longer-duration moving averages of that type have historically acted as regime dividers, and reclaiming the 365-day line has preceded extended expansions in prior cycles.

Altcoin funds join the party

The enthusiasm was not confined to Bitcoin products. US spot Ether ETFs attracted around 270 million USD on Monday, their biggest daily inflow of 2026, as traders positioned for continued upside in the second-largest cryptocurrency.

US spot XRP ETFs, by contrast, recorded no net flows on the day, leaving their cumulative net inflow figure parked at roughly 1.71 billion USD since launch. The divergence underscores how differently the various single-asset ETF wrappers have been received by allocators, with Bitcoin and Ether products soaking up the bulk of the institutional bid.

Why a near-billion day matters

Single-day ETF flow records are often dismissed as noise, but the scale of Monday’s session carries informational weight.Approaching the 1-billion-USD mark requires coordinated buying across multiple issuers and order books, and it typically coincides with options expiry positioning, macro catalysts, or momentum-chasing by systematic funds.

For market participants who spent 2026 watching intermittent outflows chip away at the ETF complex’s cumulative asset base, Monday’s print is the clearest evidence yet that the institutional bid has returned. If follow-through arrives in the coming sessions, the October 2025 record of 1.2 billion USD could fall quickly.

The stakes extend beyond flows. ETF-driven demand has repeatedly amplified price moves during supply-constrained periods, and with Bitcoin pushing against resistance near 87,000 USD, any sustained acceleration in creations could provide the fuel for a breakout toward the 90,000-USD level that bullish analysts have flagged as the next psychological milestone.

Conversely, a failure to hold inflows would leave the rally reliant on spot-market demand alone, a thinner foundation that has historically produced sharper pullbacks. For now, though, the tape is green, the flows are historic by 2026 standards, and the bull-market checklist just got one item shorter.

Market snapshot at press time: Bitcoin 85,935 USD, Ethereum 2,750 USD, Solana 117.33 USD.

Beyond the headline number, the composition of Monday’s flows matters for what comes next. ARKB’s 289-million-USD contribution was its strongest session in weeks and suggests asset allocators who had rotated out of the product during the spring drawdown are re-establishing positions. Options desks also reported elevated call buying in IBIT around year-end strikes, a signal that some institutional participants are positioning for continued upside rather than treating Monday as a one-off liquidity event. With the 365-day moving average now reclaimed and creation desks reporting fresh interest from wealth-management channels, the setup entering the final week of September is markedly different from the outflow-heavy sessions that dominated the summer months.

    1. mandates rebalancing is the boring correct answer. no retail cohort generates 381M into IBIT in one session, thats an allocator with a quarter end problem

      1. quarter end rebalance timing checks out. late september prints skew big anyway, the october follow through started the exact same way

      2. quarter end plus a clean reclaim of 84k is exactly when the big mandates move. retail buys dips, allocators buy structure

  1. 998.9M and it still couldnt crack a billion, the tape is teasing us. IBIT at 381M with ARK and Fidelity chasing means someone big repositioned

  2. 998.9M, so close to a billion it feels intentional lol. three issuers over 200M while the yearly ledger still shows 464M net outflows tells you institutions buy dislocations, they dont chase green days

  3. three issuers clearing 200M with IBIT at 381M is allocator behavior. retail doesnt concentrate like that in one session, desks do

  4. IBIT pulling 381M in one session is the headline for me. Last time we saw prints like that was Oct 6 2025 and everyone remembers what followed.

  5. one green day after a year of outflows and suddenly its a bull signal lol, the january 14 print was 844M and it went nowhere

    1. january went nowhere because the tape was choppy above 80k. this print came with price structure actually improving, not the same setup at all

    2. one print doesnt make a trend but three issuers over 200M each is breadth, not one whale. ARKB having its best day in months is the part i keep rereading

    3. january had the yearly ledger already deep negative, this print cuts the 464M deficit by more than half in one session. not the same setup

    4. to be fair 998.9M vs the 844M from january is a different scale, and the october 2025 comparison is the one that matters. could be wrong but the slope looks different this time

      1. the october 6 2025 comparison is the one that matters. after that print the follow through ran for weeks. could be the same setup here

        1. october comparison is fair but dont forget the yearly ledger still shows ~464M net outflows. one good day after twelve bad months, id wait for a second print

          1. wanting a second print is fair but context matters more. this one came with btc holding 84k, january came with a downtrend overhead. not the same setup

    5. january 844M went nowhere because the yearly ledger was already 400M underwater. this single print cuts the deficit by half, the slope argument is doing the heavy lifting for you

      1. three consecutive 300M sessions is the bar bengtsen set and tuesday futures already softened. one more green print and the yearly ledger goes flat, then it gets interesting

  6. IBIT 381M, ARKB 289M, FBTC 239M. ark printing anywhere near blackrock numbers is the outlier nobody is talking about in this one

    1. ARKB near blackrock numbers is the tell. when the number three fund by aum prints 289M, that is mandate rebalancing not conviction buying. still bullish, just colder

    2. ARKB 289M could also be one large ria rebalancing after the guidance updates. three issuers over 200M is breadth, but check how much is the same mandate family

  7. watch the follow through thursday and friday. one 998M session is noise, three consecutive 300M plus sessions flips the yearly ledger green and then the real chase starts
