153.20 sitting right under 154.85 resistance with RSI 66. this is the wait for the break or buy the 113 retest zone, not a chase
Agree on waiting for the 154.85 break, but a 113 retest feels like wishful thinking with RSI at 66. I would sooner split entries around 148.
148 gang, though with support sitting way down at 113.57 a full size retest entry needs a reason beyond cheap. small partials at 152 like Bjorn said, first add tiny
Entries around 148 assume the level holds still. AAVE loves front running obvious zones, partials at 152-153 then add on a close above 154.85
partials at 152 then adding above 154.85 means your add gets the worst fill of the batch. id flip it, size at the 148 retest and let the breakout pay for itself
sizing at the 148 retest and letting the break chase you beats pre paying for it. worst case you miss one candle of green
38% win rate across 52 trades and it still printed +7.9% while eating a -42.8% drawdown. trend following in one sentence honestly
Solveig and buy and hold only did +10% with the same pain. the DCA 12 buys at +26% is the real takeaway here
the DCA 12 doing +26% is just math, spreading 12 buys across a -42.8% drawdown will do that. still boring though
low of 58.05 last year and anyone who bought the 1y ago price at 173.72 is still underwater. respect to Kowalski though, the MA reads are usually solid
bought a january bounce around 160 and felt that one. 58.05 to 153 is the cycle so far, the 50d at 119.50 is the line keeping the whole structure honest
the 50d at 119.50 is the only line that matters. hold it and the 154.85 break is a when, lose it and every entry above 148 is a bag
119.50 does all the structural work but losing it from 153 is a 28 percent stop. size the tranche like that math is real
kowalski slaps BUY on a system with a 38% win rate over 52 trades and half of you are defending it. this is why i paper trade other peoples conviction
38% win rate printing +7.9% is just the asymmetry working. The real weak spot is the 52 trade sample, way too thin to trust either way
38% win rate printing +7.9% is literally how trend following works, winners run 3-4x the losers. paper trade it then, leaves more fill for the rest of us
trend following works until the range chops you to bits, and AAVE has spent most of 2026 ranging. 52 trades is also a thin sample for a 38% win rate, give it a hundred before trusting the math
a hundred trades at one signal a week is two years of waiting. by then the regime that made the edge is gone, you trade the sample you have
DCA 12 up 26% while lump sum sat through a 42.8% drawdown tells the whole story. most of the loud ones here would have capitulated before the bottom buy anyway
the capitulation point is underrated. lump sum buyers ate 42.8 percent on paper, most humans do not have that in them regardless of the math
the winners running 3 to 4x losers is the whole machine, but the 42.8 percent drawdown is the tax most accounts cannot actually pay
RSI 66 pressing 154.85 resistance is exactly when a 38 percent win rate strategy buys the fakeout. one daily close above and i care
52 trades with 38 percent wins is thin but the structure is clean. i just want one weekly close over 154.85 before believing any buy zone matters
weekly close over 154.85 then hold your adds. 38 percent win rate means the losers arrive in bunches, pacing matters
losers arriving in bunches is the detail everyone skips. 38 percent win rate means five red trades in a row is normal, size for that or blow up on trade three
