Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
RSI at 72.4 and this is a HIGH conviction buy? trend is real, ADX 40.8 confirms it, but entering this hot takes some nerve
@trendfuel_ resistance is only 186.67, like 3% away. if that breaks the RSI argument dies fast
rsi 72.4 and they slap HIGH conviction on it lmao. love aave but id rather wait for the 186 resistance break than chase up here
thats literally the deal with trend following though. price above a rising 50d, ADX 40, you take the signal. the system doesnt care about your entry feelings
waiting for the 186.67 break is fine but ADX 40.8 trends rarely give a clean retest. half size now, half on breakout is the boring answer
counterpoint: the whole plan is phased entries, not one lump at RSI 72. waiting for the break is valid but you pay for confirmation too
186.67 is barely 3% away tho. if you wait for the confirmed break you’re filling at 195 and your stop is wider. half now is fine
ADX 40.8 with OBV accumulation is the part people will skip. Strong trends stay overbought longer than shorts stay solvent, as they say.
agree, and 180 vs the 186.67 trigger is a 3% question. overbought inside an ADX 40 trend just means the market is doing its job, gaps are how these resolve
still -54.7% off the 399 high and already stage 2. that 131 to 100 golden cross was the free money window, painful i sat it out
look at that trade log tho. buy, sell, -0.0%, repeat. system made literally nothing for two weeks lmao
flat trade log for two weeks is just what trend following costs between signals. the ATR on this move says the next trigger pays for all the chop
two flat weeks is the rent you pay for a 40 ADX trend. every trend system ive run has the same dead zone right before the big leg
thats what spending two weeks coiling under 186 looks like on paper. the log either stays boring or gets very interesting fast
coiling two weeks under 186 with everyone staring at the same 186.67 trigger is my least favorite setup. it either goes in one candle or rolls back to the range low
deploying 35k into something still 55% below the 399 high and the entry trigger is 3% above spot. at least the phased structure means you aint all-in if 186.67 rejects, thats the only part of the plan i trust
OBV accumulation while price is still -54.7% off the 399 high is the real signal here. funds build positions in boring ranges and let retail panic about RSI 72
the OBV part is what sold me. price still -54.7% off 399 while accumulation rises, that divergence usually resolves up
which OBV feed are you on? mine shows the accumulation bump way flatter since tuesday. these divergences look totally different depending on whether the exchange data counts wicks
same here, my feed smoothed out after thursday. checked coinglass vs the exchange native one and the wick handling is definitely different, worth comparing both before trusting the divergence
52w high at 399 and price at 180, and the article still calls it stage 2 with a 40.8 ADX. Plenty of runway left before the old top, the question is whether the next signal sell cuts deep
stage 2 with ADX already at 40.8 is a spicy label, most textbooks want the trend matured not accelerating. and calling 399 the ceiling implies a 2.2x on a lending token in one leg, color me skeptical
the 35k deployment math only works if you actually take the phased fills. most people reading a BUY label will lump in at 180 and panic at the first retest of the 50d at 165
50d at 165 and 200d at 131 both rising under price, plus OBV accumulation. whatever you think of the stage 2 label, the structure is at least clean on the daily
the 200d at 131 rising is the quiet part of that structure. as long as it holds, worst case is a retest of 165, not a full unwind
