  1. high conviction BUY signal and then the backtest right below shows -20.2% with a 48% win rate across 69 trades. and im supposed to deploy 12k on this lol

    1. to be fair the 48% win rate wouldnt even matter if the risk reward was decent, but -20.2% over 69 trades says the sizing is broken too

      1. notyourquant_ targets at minus 100 while the headline says high conviction is the funniest self own i have seen on one of these tools. even the bot gave up mid backtest

        1. minus 100 targets rendering live on the page is a wild QA miss. whoever ships a tool with broken division should not be near anyones 12k

          1. minus 100 targets rendering live tells you the backtest never got a second pair of eyes. the signal might still be fine but the shop is sloppy

          2. minus 100 targets on a live page is the loudest possible tell. if the tool cannot render its own numbers why would anyone trust it with 12k

    2. the minus 20.2 percent is the honest number, but 69 trades is barely a sample for a trend system. the 48 percent win rate could be fine, you just cant tell from this backtest either way

      1. 69 trades is enough to know the sizing is off tho. minus 20 at a coin flip win rate points at risk per trade being way too fat

        1. sizing too fat is the polite read. the other read is the signal itself is noise and 69 trades cant tell them apart, which is the real reason to sit this one out

    3. targets rendering as 0.00 at minus 100 percent is my favorite bug of the year. even if the signal was good the shop proved you cant trust the display layer

  2. ALGO at 0.11 after an 81.5% drawdown from the 0.60 high. been holding since 2021 so a 43% 3 month bounce feels nice, not selling into this tho

  3. allocation_moth

12k split across 3 targets where 2 of them render as 0.00 in the tool. safest deployment here is 0 dollars imo

  4. 43 percent off 0.11 after an 81 percent drawdown is still just mean reversion in a thin book. algo needs usage not signals, the chart cannot pay rent

    1. thin book is doing heavy lifting in that sentence. algo liquidity is deep enough for a 12k order, this is a signal quality question

      1. win rate alone is the wrong lens, trend systems live on a few big winners paying for many small stops. the question is whether the backtest sizing survives a chop regime

        1. backtest sizing surviving chop is the whole ballgame. algo spent two years ranging, one golden cross with adx above 30 wont change the regime

  5. golden cross with adx above 30 is a decent trend signal, but obv distribution while price rises is the classic divergence to respect. small position, let the 50d be the referee

  6. buy rating on something 81 percent down with a 48 percent win rate is a coin flip with extra steps. the 0.11 entry is the only honest number in the plan

    1. heike 48 percent win rate with trend following is normal, the minus 20.2 total return is the broken part. sizing, not signal

  7. 0.11 after an 81 percent drawdown with obv distributing, the buy case is basically mean reversion wearing a trend costume. 12k feels brave

    1. mean reversion in a trend costume, stealing that. until algo prints actual usage growth the 0.11 bounce is just the same chart breathing

  8. 43 percent bounce off 0.11 and everyone forgets the 81.5 percent drawdown that came first. putting 12k on a backtest showing negative total return is a choice

    1. Agreed. A 43 percent bounce after an 81.5 percent drawdown still leaves you deep underwater. The growth case needs real usage numbers, not a buy rating dressed up as conviction.

      1. Right, and the usage case keeps getting deferred. Two years of ranging and the only number anyone defends is the 0.11 entry, which says plenty.
