hype up 174% on the year and the system still says wait lmao. that backtest doing 21% while buy and hold did 90% says everything, 4 trades and half were losers
@perp_pilgrim four trades is the whole critique in one number. you cannot call 21 percent a system when one entry decides the year, thats a lottery ticket with a spreadsheet attached
same, why would anyone run a crossover system on something this volatile. the -28.5% drawdown to make 21% is a terrible deal
the drawdown complaint only works if you were fully sized the whole ride. most people riding hype since january trimmed on the way up and hold a small free position now, the 174 percent is irrelevant to them
the 4 trade sample is the real tell. you cant call something a system when one losing entry flips the whole return profile. agreed on sitting out
four trades is a coin flip with a spreadsheet, fair. but weekly buybacks funded by actual fees is the part the backtest crowd keeps skipping
3 bull and 3 bear factors with ADX dead is the textbook definition of no edge. WAIT is the only honest label the system could print here
RSI at 46 with ADX below 20 is about as trendless as it gets. sitting on my hands until price reclaims the 50d at 84.72 makes more sense than catching the bottom here
disagree, support at 76.25 held twice already. waiting for the 50d reclaim means buying 8% higher, there goes the whole trade
Paying 8% more for a confirmed reclaim beats catching the third test of 76.25 that breaks. Support holding twice guarantees nothing on the third try.
Marisol has a point about 76.25 holding twice, but entering before ADX wakes up just means wider stops. I would rather pay 8% more for confirmation
76.25 held twice because nobody wanted to sell there, the volume was anemic all week. support in a dead tape isnt signal, its inertia
waited for the 50d reclaim on this one in september and it never came. RSI 46 with ADX under 20 can chop for weeks, staged tranches beat holding out for a perfect tap at 84.72
hold on a perp dex token with real fees coming in is at least a defensible hold, the revenue actually exists. its the 30k deployment size into that drawdown profile that deserves the side eye
everyone arguing entries while hype buys back supply with actual fees every week. the hold case barely needs the chart, this token has cash flow most l1s have to fake
fees funding buybacks every week is the only chart that matters. every l1 talks about doing it and hype actually does it, hold is free here
hold is free until a vesting cliff lands on the book and weekly fees cant absorb it. the unlock calendar question upthread is the one nobody in the hold camp answered
fee funded buybacks are rare but check the unlock schedule before calling a hold free. a vesting cliff over the book changes the math a lot
buybacks against a vesting cliff are just a treadmill. put the unlock calendar next to the fee revenue chart before calling the hold free
fees covered the buybacks every week this year tho. unless the vesting cliff is bigger than weekly fee intake the treadmill still burns supply down net
79.78 is basically mid range between 76.25 support and the 84.72 50d. mid range entries on a 30k deployment is how you end up averaging into a loss
mid range entry on a 30k deploy with ADX asleep, yeah this is a pass. the 76.25 tap or nothing
a 30k deployment plan is staged tho, she isnt dumping it all at 79.78. the mid range critique attacks a single fill that never happens
everyone arguing entries at 79.78 while the funding rate on the perp does the actual deciding. size small, let the tranches work, check back after the 50d test
21 percent return for a -28.5 percent drawdown is a job nobody would take in tradfi. system prints WAIT and half this thread is still arguing entries lol
