Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate

golden cross plus ADX 26.9 is actually a decent combo. been waiting for MNT to reclaim the 200d, entry around 0.67 seems fine as long as 0.54 holds
0.54 is way below the 0.63 stop the plan lays out tho. by then the trade thesis is dead, thats not a discount entry
agreed, by 0.54 the 0.63 stop already tagged you out. people treat a 19 percent lower entry as the same trade and it is a completely different one
The 3 month +72% against BTC at +36% is impressive, but the 1 year column still shows -25.6%. I would size this smaller than the article suggests.
^ this, MACD bear cross while everything else screams buy is the part nobody mentions. resistance at 0.70 is only 4% away too
exactly on the sizing. and 52% win rate over 23 trades is barely an edge, people will read momentum and ignore that part
came to say this. a 52 percent win rate across 23 trades with minus 25 percent on the year behind it is a half size trade at best, not a full deployment
OBV accumulation with volume ratio 1.27 is the detail I like most here. someone is quietly loading before the 0.70 break
^ agree on the OBV read, but the backtest only ran two years and MNT basically only has one cycle of data. kinda thin for high conviction
backtest says +16% with a -12% max dd on 15k. thats fine but the whole trade lives or dies on 0.54 holding, thats a wide stop from 0.67
MNT beating SOL over 3 months at +72 vs +65.7 is the stat that surprised me here. Still, entering 4% under resistance is bold, I’d wait for the 0.70 flip.
waiting for the 0.70 flip as well. entering 4 percent under resistance only works if breakout volume confirms, otherwise youre the exit liquidity for the 0.67 crowd
same, stuck under 0.67 resistance for weeks. i want the 0.70 flip with volume before touching it, that minus 25.6 one year column scared me straight
same camp. every bounce under 0.67 has come on lighter volume than the last, the 0.70 flip needs an actual spike or its another fade
that 3 month number carries the whole bull case tho. one year column still reads minus 25.6, staging entries is the only sane way to touch this
minus 25.6 on the year and the plan still says buy, the 3 month column is doing some heavy lifting there. staged or not thats conviction
the 3 month column is carrying the whole stage 2 call, 1 year still reads minus 25.6. staged entries under 0.63 are fair, the label is generous
the DCA table is the real story here. lump sum a year ago lost 25.6%, twelve staged buys made 31.5%. same token, same 15k
the DCA table is the real story and it holds across timeframes too. 31.5 vs minus 25.6 on the same 15k is the whole argument for staged entries in one line
the DCA edge compounds because MNT chopped sideways for a year. run that same table on a trending token and staging in costs you the entire move instead of half of it
the DCA table only works in hindsight because MNT chopped. run it on a runner and staging in costs you half the position before the move even starts
the stop math is doing something funny. 0.63 from a 0.67 entry is barely 6 percent of risk on a token that moves 4 percent an hour on quiet days, youd get tagged on noise alone
this is my gripe with every staged entry plan on MNT. the stop needs to be weekly-timeframe wide or youre just paying fees to get wicked
75 percent off the high and the verdict only now flips to BUY at 0.67. trend following buys late by design but minus 25 on the year makes this one feel extra late
buy signal at 75 percent off the high with the yearly column still minus 25.6 is a momentum model politely apologizing
