Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
backtest lost 47% of the 10k and the verdict is still BUY with HIGH conviction lmao. the signal math is fine, the strategy itself is cooked
Read it again. The backtest is buy and hold reference, the signal section is trend-following entry. Two different things entirely.
tbf the plan caps the first tranche at 1.62 and spaces out the rest, so its not full 10k risk day one. still not calling that HIGH conviction off a -47% backtest tho
the ADX gate is what saved this thing from chopping itself to death, look at the may-jun stretch where it ate -22% in a month
the -47 is buy and hold reference, the trend filter entries are a separate print. still agree HIGH is generous off one golden cross, MEDIUM feels honest
the -47% backtest is the buy and hold reference, not the signal, tobias aal said it upthread. the trend filter entries are the whole point of the plan
buying something 75% off the high because rsi says 62. this is how i got burned in 2022, hard pass
Different setup though. golden cross plus ADX 26.6, the trend already turned. not a falling knife trade here
bagheld_once the difference is the 50d already turned up with the 200d under it. 2022 had no structure, this one at least has the cross behind it
-75% from the 8.24 high and its still somehow above both the 50d and 200d. bottoming formation actually looks decent here, rsi 62 isnt overheated yet
Resistance at 2.14 is only 6% away, support at 1.54 is 24% down. Risk/reward on this entry is rough unless it breaks out first. I bought the 0.86 low area and Im just holding.
bought the 0.86 area gang checking in. 2.14 is only 6% away, if it clears that your risk reward flips instantly
6 percent from 2.14 is the bull math but the 0.86 crew already won. just trying not to buy the top of someone elses story
0.86 crew over here printing while everyone argues entry mechanics. respect, i paperhanded mine at 1.20 and have thought about it every day since
0.86 entry with a -75 percent ride in between is survivorship bias with extra steps lol. the signal math at 2.02 is the only part worth arguing about
1.20 exit while the 0.86 crew held is peak market comedy. at least the paper hands sleep at night
held from 0.86 myself and a -75 percent drawdown tests your faith in every signal. the stage 1 bottoming call at 2.02 is the first add ive seriously considered since the may chop
Held NEAR since the $5 days. First piece in months that actually cites the 200d instead of vibes. Still waiting for the 50d to flatten before adding
waiting for perfect entries is why ur still bagholding from $5 lol. vol 1.33x on an up day says buyers showed up
the ADX gate ate a -22 percent chop in may-jun without it, thats the whole defense. entry discipline is why this backtest isnt just buy and hold
the adx gate eating -22 in may is the part most signal reports quietly delete. showing the chop months is the only reason to trust this backtest
Aisha at least shows the losing trades this time instead of only the winners, respect for that. watching 2.14 like everyone else
the -47% backtest honestly makes me trust the BUY call more. they published the ugly number instead of hiding it, signal math must be carrying the verdict
RSI 62 above a rising 50d is a trend continuation setup, people conflating it with 2022 knife catching need to look at the ADX. 26.6 says trend exists
RSI 62 means most of the move is already priced in though. If ADX was reading 35 I would agree with you, 26.6 is too thin to build a position on.
adx 26.6 is the weakest possible trend confirmation tho, its barely above the 25 line. one chop week and this setup reads completely different
