Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
RSI 61.4 with ADX 28.8 and price above both the 50d and 200d, the setup itself looks clean. the 50d still sloping down is the only thing keeping me from tranche two already
backtest lost 44% over 2 years with a 38% win rate across 53 trades and the verdict is BUY with high conviction? the system is telling on itself here
tbf the 9 bull vs 2 bear factors is the trend signal, the backtest is just what the raw system did over a brutal period. vol 2.06x on an up day with OBV rising is why conviction reads high
38 percent win rate at 1.28 R:R is survivable with small tranches, the -44 percent is what happens when conviction ignores the math. starter position only
@trendfollowmike same reaction. it does say entry quality is midrange R:R 1.28 tho, so its more of a small starter tranche bet than a yolo
starter tranche on an R:R of 1.28 is generous wording, thats a lottery ticket with a stop loss. still took one tho lol
the backtest is the raw system tho, 9 bull factors are the discretionary overlay. the sheet is honest about both, most pages arent
the -44 backtest is the raw signal, the 9 factor overlay is what flips it to BUY. honest sheet shows both columns, still wouldnt enter under 0.42 tho
the overlay flipping a minus 44 backtest to BUY is exactly the part id want tested out of sample. ondo holding above the 50d with obv climbing is what actually carries this
the -44 is the raw system with zero overlay, the 9 bull factors are what flip it to BUY. still wouldnt go past a starter tranche at 0.41 tho
starter tranche at 0.41 is the right size when the raw backtest reads minus 44.2. overlay conviction with zero out of sample is just vibes with extra columns
Funny how every DCA option in the table beats the trend strategy. 12 buys at +11.3% vs the backtest at -44.2%. Maybe just DCA and touch grass.
11.3% over 2 years on DCA barely beats staking tho. i would rather run the 0.35 stop on a small starter tranche than lock capital for 24 months for that
0.41 here, 52w high 2.14, thats an 81% drawdown already priced in. stop at 0.35 and target 1.00 is decent math if the golden cross holds. i nibbled
DCA winning over 2 years is hardly a revelation, it wins in most chop. the real question is whether 0.41 holds as a higher low
0.41 held twice in august on lower volume, the third test with obv rising is the one that matters. if it breaks even the starter tranche crew is bagholding
the dca table beating the backtest is the whole honesty test. most pages bury the losing column, this one prints minus 44 in bold and still says starter tranche only
ondo at 0.41 with a 0.35 stop is a 15 percent risk slice on a 143 percent target. clean structure, my only worry is the 50d still pointing down
the 50d slope is the only honest bear on the page. if it curls up before the golden cross confirms this goes from starter to full position fast
0.41 against a 2.14 high with OBV rising, ill take the 0.35 stop over locking capital 24 months for an 11 percent DCA. the skew is the whole trade
the skew framing is right. risking 0.06 for a shot at 0.59 upside only works because the tranche is small, the moment you size up the vol eats you
0.35 stop on a coin this volatile is rough, one wick and you are out. the 143 percent target with a 15 percent risk slice is clean structure tho
one wick out is the feature tho. ONDO drops 15 percent in an hour on a regular tuesday, id rather eat the stop than ride 0.41 down to 0.28
one wick out is fine, re-entry is allowed. the people who got wrecked on ondo were the ones with no stop at 1.90
the skew is the whole trade until that 50d curls up. alert set at 0.52 for tranche two, otherwise i just ignore the tape
ondo is the compliance layer of the whole rwa trade. if tokenized treasuries keep growing this is the toll booth, 0.41 is noise long term
Tokenized treasuries keep growing and ONDO is still the toll booth for that trade. 0.41 is noise, the 0.35 stop makes this a cheap option on the RWA story.
