Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate

RSI at 74 and they call it a BUY with high conviction? im long from 0.38 and even i think this entry is spicy
same, long from 0.38 and im adding nothing up here. the writeup says vol 3.44x on the breakout day, chasing 3x volume candles is how you become the exit
DCA with 12 buys beat lump sum on this one, +46.5% vs +41.3%. and the trend system itself lost 25.8% over two years, kinda undercuts the whole BUY call
Gro you are ignoring the 3.44x volume day and OBV accumulation. tape says this breaks 0.58, the backtest is a different regime entirely
every trend system eats a losing stretch, that 25.8% over two years is the fee for catching moves like this golden cross. respect the stop or dont play
the fee sure, but -25.8% over two years while plain DCA made +46.5%? at some point the tool is just worse than the dumb option and this article accidentally proves it
the dumb option beating the system for two years is one regime. the stops are what keep you alive for the next one
the two year window includes a full bear leg tho. trend systems look dumb at the cycle turn and genius at the rip, sizing is the only part you actually control
the +46.5% DCA number is cute but the article is a 25% tranche plan with stops, not an all-in. compare it to DCA on a risk adjusted basis and the gap closes fast
+46.5 vs +41.3 over a two year window is basically noise, one good month of DCA timing flips it right back
RSI at 74 and they slap a HIGH conviction BUY on it? bold call, works until it doesnt
stage 2 uptrend with ADX 37.9, strong trend overrides the overbought read. thats the entire thesis of trend systems my guy
RSI 74 is the trend tool doing its job, strong moves stay overbought for weeks. 25% tranche with a stop is sized fine, its not a yolo
caught the ONDO golden cross on the 25th, up double digits already. trend following pays when you actually respect the stops
still 74.6% under the 52w high of 2.14. would want a retest of the 0.32 support before adding size tbh
0.32 retest in a stage 2 uptrend with ADX near 38? deep retests get shallower once the trend confirms, 0.44 to 0.46 is the realistic zone imo
0.44 to 0.46 sounds nice until you remember the last retest only dipped to 0.47 before ripping. alert set, limit order not
Fair point on the shallow retest, though 0.44 to 0.46 as an alert zone costs nothing. If it only dips to 0.47 again I would rather have the alert set than a filled chase order up at 0.54.
0.32 retest after stage 2 confirms is hope trading. 0.44 to 0.46 with an alert is the grownup version, exactly
0.44 to 0.46 as an alert is free optionality, agreed. though if ADX holds near 38 the shallow retest crowd probably never gets filled
0.44 to 0.46 as an alert zone is free optionality, calling it hope trading is a weird read tbh
adx 37.9 with obv grinding up for weeks, the only thing keeping me cautious is that 3.44x volume day already being behind us. late stage entry or breakout continuation, no in between lol
the 3.44x volume day worries me less than RSI 74 plus a wide stop. trend is intact but entries up here are paying for the whole move already
ONDO at 0.54 with the RWA narrative still warm. a 25 percent tranche plan with stops is the only sane way to play something 74 percent off its high
the volume confirmation is what sells me. 3.44x on the breakout day after weeks of obv grind is the cleanest signal ONDO has printed all year
