holding gold while ETH did +56% in 3 months is a choice. the -22.5% drawdown from 5622 says it all really
ETH +56% is a rearview mirror comparison. next risk off week and PAXG suddenly becomes the smart part of the folio. different jobs
PAXG down 22.5% from the 5622 high and they call it a hold? gold backed or not, thats a real drawdown
Its a trend following system, they are not calling the bottom. With 5 bear factors vs 2 bull, WAIT is the honest answer.
spot gold did the same -22%, the token just makes it visible on a chart. blame the metal not the wrapper lol
the wrapper does add weekend liquidity that gold markets dont have tho. thats the one edge PAXG has over the ETFs
its gold, -22.5% from the high is what spot did too. hold means it tracks the metal, nobody promised it pumps
exactly. judging PAXG against ETH is comparing a fire extinguisher to a rocket. both belong in the house
4020 is the real decision level, 4520 is just the 50d crowd arguing. if 4020 goes the death cross finally means something
if 4020 slips im not waiting for the death cross confirmation, that thing lags by weeks. cutting half the PAXG slice at the break and reassessing at 3900
Agreed on 4020 deciding it. I deployed a first slice at 4380 and the rest of the 15k stays dry until that test happens. No hurry on a gold token.
same, though the gap to spot gold was the interesting part. if 4020 holds the discount to physical actually makes it a decent entry
checked paxg tools after reading, gap to spot was like 30bps. the discount entry thesis needs a real dislocation to actually work
a 30bps gap kills the discount thesis dead yeah. at that spread youre just buying gold with extra steps and a chart to obsess over
the redemption arb desks usually close that spot gap within hours, worth checking paxg tools before trusting the discount as an entry signal. if 4020 holds through the week tho, fair point
PAXG basically tracks spot gold, calling it a hold vs alts kind of misses the point. It is a hedge, not a moonshot.
^ this. i keep 20% of the folio in PAXG exactly for weeks where SOL does a -15%
adx 34.5 on a gold token is wild. strong bear trend on the one thing thats supposed to be boring lmao
Stage 3 topping with ADX at 34.5 and price under the 200d at 4520? That resistance at 4686 is a wall. Waiting for 4020 support to get tested.
Death cross with a rising 50d is the system lagging the turn, not a fresh sell signal. I add small under 4400 and wait for the 200d reclaim.
Death cross but the 50d is still rising? Mixed signals everywhere here. Waiting for the 200d reclaim before deploying any of that 15k
agreed on the reclaim, rsi 44 barely moved off the lows. no edge here yet
waiting for the 200d reclaim too, 4520 is the line in the sand. until then this trades like a chart not like gold
down 22.5% from 5622 to 4359 on a gold token and the rating is HOLD. i respect the conviction but thats an ugly chart for something meant to track bullion
HOLD with a rising 50d is just patience language for wait at 4520. the 4020 test decides everything anyway
