selling gold exposure the week every macro desk is cutting rates is a choice. at least PAXG redemptions are clean, one ounce per token, no nav math
SELL signal at 4300 but your own backtest shows buy and hold beat the strategy 32.5% to 20.2%? the system is arguing with its own data lol
Look at the drawdown column though. Buy and hold ate a -23.5% peak drawdown for that 32.5%. The strategy capped it at -12.4%. Same destination, way rougher ride.
SELL at 4300 when the 52w high is 5622? thats a 23% drawdown already, most of the pain is behind us imo
pain behind us maybe, but stage 3 topping with 7 of 8 factors bearish and bounces getting weaker each tag. take the 4300 exit and rebuy lower
Running a 12k portfolio on PAXG is basically just holding gold with extra steps. The SELL call makes sense if you need the liquidity elsewhere tho
disagree with the sell, 4300 is holding and every time PAXG tags this zone it bounces. but respect the actual numbers in this piece instead of vibes
the drawdown math checks out, 5622 to 4300 is rough on a gold token. redeeming for physical looks better than selling on market rn
42% win rate across 36 trades and it still printed 20%? thats the whole point of trend following, you eat small losses until the fat tail pays for all of them
sure, but 20% vs 32.5% buy and hold on gold of all things? the fat tail better be enormous to justify underperforming a rock
