Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
they ran a trend following backtest on a stablecoin. 83 trades, -1.7%, on something that is literally pegged to a dollar lol
The ADX of 8.6 kind of proves your point. No trend to follow when the asset is a peg. This reads like a robot filing paperwork.
1% win rate across 83 trades is actually kind of impressive. you have to try hard to lose money on a dollar peg
stop at 1.00, target 1 at 1.00, target 2 at 1.00. incredible edge on this one, thanks
the comparison table accidentally makes the real point. SOL +68% over 3 months while RLUSD sits at 0.0%. stablecoins are for parking cash between trades, nobody should be running MA crossovers on them
To be fair, RLUSD minted through Ripple gives you actual utility for XRP settlement. The backtest is silly but the token itself has a job. Just hold it if you need it, skip the chart.
the real story here is market cap growth. RLUSD went from nothing to top 10 stablecoin in a year, and this thing is grading it on RSI
