buy signal with a 64% drawdown still baked in, brave call oliver. ADX 41 at least confirms the trend is real
Backtest on SOL lost 10% with a 42% max drawdown and the verdict is still BUY? I will wait for the 110 resistance to break first.
@Marek thats why its a trend following system not a crystal ball, the 9 bull factors vs 2 bear is the actual signal
42% drawdown on that backtest sounds brutal but remember it covers the full 294 to 60 collapse. forward risk from 105 is way smaller imo
@Bozena fair point on forward risk, but the backtest also caught the 60 bottom. from 105 the upside to the old range is nearly 3x, thats the trade being made here
waiting for the 110 break means your fill is like 118 after the chase. kestrel had it right, half at 105 half on the 84 retest is the disciplined play here
this is the way. limit orders at 84 either fill or they dont, chasing a 110 breakout at 118 is how you end up down 12% on a winning thesis lol
+41% over 3 months while its still down 22% on the year, decent entry zone if the 84 support holds
adx 41.3 with a golden cross under 110 is the part that gets me. trend traders eat good on setups like this
Respect the system, but deploying 35k while MACD is still negative feels aggressive. Thats the one bear flag I keep staring at.
gustav has a point on the MACD but 9 bull factors vs 2 bear is hard to ignore. split the entry, half now and half on an 84 retest
@Gustav the MACD lag is exactly why the signal fires late though. By the time it flips positive you’ve missed 15% of the move, that’s the cost of trend following.
bought the $60 low in a panic sell and people are calling entries at 105? i’ll let someone else chase this one lol
84 retest crew checking in. if that level holds on volume this becomes one of the cleaner SOL entries of the year, if it slices through 105 buyers are the exit liquidity
