351% in a year and the system still says WAIT, that takes some discipline. RSI at 47.7 and price sitting under the 50d at 1287, I get the logic, but it stings watching from the sidelines since 400
discipline is the whole edge though. the system caught the run from 267 to 1683, giving back a bit of chop around 1200 is just the price of not catching a -28% drawdown
that SELL at 1207 for -7.9% is annoying but with the 200d way down at 697 there is a lot of cushion. im staging bids near 1100 if this stage 1 bottoming actually plays out
staging near 1100 too, but the 200d way down at 697 is the real magnet if stage 1 fails. keeping the dry powder for that, not the 50d
351% in a year and the system still says HOLD because its below the 50d. thats discipline most of us dont have, i would have taken profits at 800
profits at 800 wouldve felt genius until the 1683 print. holding thru the chop is the premium you pay for the 351
taking profits at 800 sounds nice until you remember the run from 267 to 1683. the 50d at 1287 is the line, below that the system is right to sit on its hands
the 50d at 1287 is only about 6 percent away. one good week flips the stage call, i get the wait but this feels closer than people admit
6 percent is one weekly candle in ZEC terms. the wait is right but dont blink, this thing covers distance fast when it finally decides to go
discipline is easy to praise and impossible to copy lol. i paper traded a trend system for a month once and overrode two signals before giving up
backtest says +1354% but max drawdown was -56.7%. youd have watched 6k of your 12k vanish and kept holding. easy on paper, brutal live
6k of 12k vanishing is only fatal if you run full size. half position thru that backtest still clears 600 percent and you sleep fine
@shielded_sam thats the whole point of trend following tho. the -56.7% is the cost of catching moves like +112% in 3 months. you cant get one without the other
the -56.7% max drawdown is why position sizing exists. half the pain is just people running full size into a trend system and panicking at the first -20
351% in a year on a privacy coin and the system still says WAIT at 1207. that patience is literally what pays for catching the next 267 style entry
