Bitcoin's SOPR — the on-chain metric tracking whether coins move at profit or loss — has now held above breakeven for three straight weeks, the longest such streak of 2026.
The Data: CryptoQuant data shows SOPR at 1.002, above 1.0 continuously since August 19 — through the chop around $80K and the test of support near $78,300. Checkonchain notes the short-term-holder structure resembles early bull-market recoveries, not bear rallies.
The Takeaway: In bear markets, moves back into profit get sold hard. This one has survived 21 days. If SOPR holds above 1 through the next dip, the 'bear market' label gets very hard to defend.
