XRP is about to get one of the loudest megaphones in American college sports. Florida Athletics has announced a multi-year partnership with Ripple that will put XRP branding in front of one of the largest fan bases in the Southeastern Conference, beginning with the 2026 football season.
The XRP logo will be featured prominently on the field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium — the famed “Swamp” in Gainesville — as well as across Florida Athletics’ digital properties and event signage. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
## More than a logo on the grass
Beyond branding, Ripple has committed to supporting financial and technology education for Florida student-athletes and the broader campus community, covering both traditional finance and digital assets. That educational component mirrors the structure of Ripple’s earlier sports deals, which have paired visibility with programming rather than pure advertising.
University of Florida Athletics Director Scott Stricklin framed the deal as a natural fit for a school that has long traded on innovation.
“Florida has a long history of embracing innovation and technology to enhance the experience of our fans and advance our programs,” Stricklin said in a statement. “Ripple has established itself as an innovative leader in financial technology, and we’re excited to welcome XRP to Gator Nation.”
## The second collegiate domino
The Florida deal is Ripple’s second major move in college sports this summer. Earlier in 2026, Ripple became the sports sponsor of the Kansas Jayhawks, with an XRP patch set to appear on Kansas jerseys — the first time a cryptocurrency will be displayed on the uniforms of a major collegiate sports program. The Kansas connection is personal for Ripple: CEO Brad Garlinghouse is a Kansas alum.
Taken together, the two deals sketch out a deliberate strategy. Rather than spending on professional league sponsorships where inventory is scarce and expensive, Ripple is going deep into college sports — a space with rabid regional loyalty, massive television audiences, and a fan demographic that skews younger than traditional financial advertising targets.
Florida gives that strategy its biggest stage yet. The Gators compete in the Southeastern Conference, the most commercially powerful conference in college sports, and support 21 teams and more than 500 student-athletes, according to the announcement. The school has won 49 national championships across 16 sports, and its football program — with national titles in 1996, 2006, and 2008 — is typically one of the most-watched teams in the SEC and the NCAA.
## Why college sports, and why now
For Ripple, the timing is favorable. The company, founded in 2012, has spent recent years expanding beyond payments into custody, prime brokerage, and treasury management, with XRP and its RLUSD stablecoin underpinning its core offerings. Institutional product pipelines take years to mature; brand recognition among consumers can move much faster.
Sports sponsorship is one of the few channels that reliably reaches tens of millions of households in a single weekend. Field branding at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium means XRP’s logo will appear in game broadcasts, highlight clips, and social media content all season — impressions that would cost multiples more through conventional advertising buys.
There is also a competitive dimension. Crypto brands fought over sports inventory during the last bull cycle, with exchange logos appearing on arenas, jerseys, and Super Bowl ads. As the market has matured, the surviving firms have become more selective, targeting partnerships that also carry regulatory and reputational legitimacy. A deal with a flagship public university — complete with an education component for student-athletes — signals exactly that kind of mainstream acceptance.
The XRP Ledger’s native token has also been riding a broader market narrative this month, with ETF-related flows and retail attention returning to large-cap alternatives. Brand placement in SEC football does not move a token’s fundamentals, but it does reinforce the perception that XRP is a household name rather than a niche asset.
## The road ahead
The 2026 college football season will be the first test of the partnership. If the Kansas jersey patch and the Florida field branding perform — in terms of visibility, fan sentiment, and measurable engagement — expect Ripple to extend the playbook to more programs, and expect competitors to follow.
For now, Gator Nation gets a new sponsor, and XRP gets a stage in one of college football’s most iconic venues. As Stricklin put it, the school sees itself as embracing innovation. The Swamp will find out this fall whether that innovation plays as well on the fifty-yard line as it does in a pitch deck.
skipping pro leagues where ad inventory costs a fortune and going deep on college sports instead is a sharp play. kansas got the jersey patch, florida got the grass
XRP logo on the grass at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is a serious flex. The Swamp holds 88k+, that is SEC eyeballs every home game for years.
88k in the swamp plus every tv broadcast, the field cam shots alone are worth the spend
swampdegen_ and the 2026 season starts soon, so the timing is no accident. Expect XRP mentions in every broadcast recap.
season ticket holder since 2009 and i never imagined XRP on the field at Ben Hill Griffin. wild times in Gainesville
the financial literacy programming for student athletes is actually a smart angle. nil deals plus crypto education makes sense together
Second collegiate deal this summer after the earlier one. Someone at Ripple clearly got a sports marketing budget approved.
right? terms not disclosed but SEC field branding doesnt come cheap. expecting a bowl game sponsor next
garlinghouse being a kansas alum explains the jersey patch, but florida is pure exposure buying. a bowl sponsorship is the obvious next tier
The education component with student athletes is smarter than a plain ad buy. Stricklin framing it around innovation reads well locally too.
