BNK Investment & Securities Partners With EverTreasure to Tokenize Films, Musicals and Artworks
South Korean brokerage BNK Investment & Securities has signed a strategic agreement with cultural-finance fintech EverTreasure to develop fractional investment and tokenized securities products tied to films, performances, musicals and artworks, according to a Sept. 14 report from Yonhap News Agency.
The memorandum of understanding covers the development, issuance and distribution of investment products backed by cultural content, with responsibilities clearly divided between the two companies. BNK Investment & Securities will handle the arrangement and distribution of tokenized securities, investor recruitment and advice on regulatory compliance, while EverTreasure will identify underlying assets, connect blockchain technology to the products and operate the supporting platform.
A New Route Into Tokenized Securities
The agreement gives BNK Investment & Securities another route into the tokenized securities market as South Korea prepares to put a formal legal and market structure around blockchain-based financial products. The two companies plan to work together on due diligence for underlying assets and product structures before potential offerings reach investors.
Their cooperation will extend to securing listings on distribution platforms and conducting joint marketing and investor relations activities targeting institutional investors and high-net-worth clients. Overseas expansion is also part of the plan, with the companies intending to use their international entities and networks to pursue opportunities outside South Korea.
BNK Investment & Securities CEO Shin Myung-ho described the agreement as a starting point for connecting the value of different types of cultural content with financial products. “This agreement is a meaningful starting point for providing investors with new investment opportunities by connecting the value of various cultural content with finance,” Shin said in a statement.
The brokerage plans to continue finding tokenized securities opportunities backed by competitive real-world assets and gradually expand the financial products and services it offers in the sector, according to the report.
Timing Ahead of the 2027 Rollout
The timing puts the EverTreasure partnership months before South Korea begins the first phase of its tokenized securities rollout in February 2027. That first phase will cover selected privately placed money market funds and bonds, unlisted stocks issued through trust structures, and publicly offered fractional investment securities, with the planned scope later extending to other publicly offered securities.
BNK Investment & Securities has already been preparing infrastructure for this market. The brokerage is among the securities companies participating in Koscom’s joint tokenized-securities issuance platform project, which is being developed as financial firms position themselves ahead of the country’s new regulatory system.
For EverTreasure, the partnership leverages experience developed through YEATU, its fractional investment platform for art and cultural content. The platform connects investors with projects involving artworks, performances, films and exhibitions, and EverTreasure plans to use the content intellectual property sourcing capabilities and investor network built through YEATU to support the new products.
Cultural Assets as Real-World Collateral
The deal reflects a broader trend in Asian markets of tying tokenized products to unconventional real-world assets. While tokenized Treasuries, money market funds and bonds dominate institutional pipelines globally, South Korean brokerages have increasingly experimented with cultural content, real estate and unlisted shares as the underlying for fractional products.
Cultural assets bring both opportunity and risk. Films, musicals and artworks can attract retail investor interest in a market where Korean content exports have become a national strength, but they also pose valuation challenges, illiquidity and uncertain resale markets that traditional securities disclosures were not designed to address. The due-diligence framework the two companies plan to build together will be central to whether these products reach mainstream distribution.
The partnership also illustrates how South Korea’s financial establishment is positioning for the tokenized securities era. Rather than waiting for the full regulatory framework to land, brokerages are signing content pipelines, building issuance infrastructure and cultivating institutional demand in advance, mirroring similar preparations by larger peers.
Bitcoin was trading around 77,709 USD at the time of writing, with the broader crypto market watching a week packed with central bank decisions, including the Federal Reserve’s rate call expected midweek.
For now, the agreement remains a memorandum of understanding, and no specific products or issuance dates have been announced. But with the February 2027 first-phase rollout on the calendar and Koscom’s platform under construction, the pipeline from cultural content to tokenized securities in South Korea is steadily taking shape, and BNK Investment & Securities has signaled it intends to be part of the first wave.

Its an MOU, not a product. CEO Shin literally calls it a starting point. joint due diligence on who prices a musical, thats the part nobody has answered
Jorn’s MOU point is the whole story. shin calling it a starting point is ceo code for nothing is built
starting point is right up there with exploring synergies in the corporate speak hall of fame lol
the phase one Feb 2027 timeline is the killer detail here. bonds and money market funds come first, tokenized musicals are years away from any legal treatment in korea
phase three fantasy is generous. korea only settled the base tokenized securities rules this year, musicals are a decade away
decade is generous tbh. the securities tokenization framework barely cleared its own phase one, musicals are queue jumping on the strength of a MOU
every MOU here says starting point. the ones that matter have a licensed brokerage attached, and BNK actually brings that piece
Fair question on pricing but thats exactly why EverTreasure exists. They already run the fan-funded album valuation stack, BNK just brings the distribution
Fractional ownership of musicals sounds wild until you remember Korea already runs fan-funded album projects at massive scale. BNK doing this with an actual brokerage license is the real news here.
right, the kpop funding model was basically the beta test for this. everTreasure just puts it on rails
the brokerage license point is right but read the timeline. phase one in Feb 2027 covers money market funds and bonds only. tokenized musicals are a phase three fantasy at best
feb 2027 phase one is closer than you think. korean regulators already greenlit security token pilot batches this year, the mmf ramp is basically scheduled
tokenized musicals is a first for me. korea keeps finding the weirdest stuff to put onchain lol
wait till someone tokenizes a flop and bagholders end up owning 0.3% of a box office bomb lmao
lol give it a year, EverTreasure will be fractionalizing a flop drama series and selling it as diversified cultural exposure
Institutional appetite for fractional film rights could be real, but due diligence on cultural asset valuations is going to be brutal. BNK taking that side of the deal is smart.
agree with you on valuation being the hard part. who prices a musical before it even opens? the ticket futures market?
broadway grosses get published weekly, you could price off trailing box office like a REIT values rents. messy but not unanswerable
korean films presell distribution territories before a single scene gets shot. box office pricing is less crazy than it sounds once you know that
presales give comps but musicals print weekly grosses for years. thats better pricing data than half the rwa stuff backed by illiquid art
weekly grosses only matter if the token reprices off them. most fractional stuff marks once at issuance and never again, box office data sitting right there unused
Tokenizing artworks is how you end up in court arguing over who owns 0.4% of a musical for a decade. Hard pass from me.
BNK arranging and EverTreasure running the platform is a clean split at least. one has a license, one has the tech. better than most MOU pairs where nobody knows who does what
fractional film rights with a brokerage license behind it beats another stablecoin pitch at least. korea keeps out-innovating the out-of-ideas west on tokenization
the split is the tell. BNK brings the license and the regulatory muscle, EverTreasure brings assets nobody can value yet. guess who eats the blame when a musical flops
EverTreasure picks the assets nobody can value and BNK carries the license. the blame math on a flopped musical is not complicated
A licensed brokerage doing distribution and compliance is rarer than these announcements admit. Still an MOU, but the structure beats the usual two startups and a whitepaper.
