Marcus Reid calls himself a long-term HODLer and still publishes a stop loss exit. Pick one strategy, buddy
a stop loss on a long term hold is just position sizing with a safety net. the man can be a hodler and still manage risk, both things are allowed
a stop loss on a 4500 slice out of 30k is just discipline. you can hodl the thesis and still cut a losing tranche, both things are allowed
burnrate calling out the stop loss but the article literally sizes it at 4500 out of 30k. that IS the risk management
cutting a 4500 tranche while holding the core position is literally how funds run books. a hodler can still manage a losing slice, staggering is the whole point
staggering is fine until tranche two needs the thesis still intact at 700. bnb is one of maybe three exchange tokens with the revenue to survive that test
quietly the best exchange token through every cycle. 4,500 position with a hard stop is a sane entry, most bnb takes i read are pure vibes
8 bull factors against 2 bear and still only a 4,500 initial entry. the system is way more cautious than the buy headline sounds, credit where due
728 from a 1370 high and they still call it a BUY with a 30k deployment plan. respect the conviction but thats a 47% drawdown
the 30k plan with 4500 deployed answers the conviction question. if the drawdown deepens theres dry powder left, not a margin call
47% drawdown on bnb is like its 5th worst ever lol. 2022 took it down 60 something percent and it still outperformed most of the market after
47% off the high is the discount, not the warning. bought my first bnb chunk in the 2022 lows and it was down way worse than this
47% drawdown and bnb chain activity never flinched. drawdowns on an exchange token with actual revenue history are discounts, exit signs are for tokens with no cash flow
Not sure I trust any analysis that doesnt address why BNB is down this hard from the 52w high. What was the actual catalyst?
the dump was the q2 exchange crackdown headlines, nothing bnb chain specific ever broke. that is the actual catalyst context you wanted
@Dana same question. article throws a price and a plan at you but skips the part where you explain the dump
@0xkettle the dump context is macro, not BNB specific. 10y treasury broke 5% this week and everything risk-off sold. BNB just tracks it with extra beta from that 1370 high
amadu answered below but the macro leg matters too. q2 crackdown headlines plus risk-off selling, bnb chain itself never broke, thats the whole 728 thesis
Staggered entries on a 30k portfolio is at least sane. Averaging into BNB under 750 has historically worked out fine, my 2023 bags say hi
728 with the 52w high at 1370 and people acting like buying here is insane. bnb spent most of 2023 under 400, this range is fine
Exactly. People see 728 vs 1370 and panic, forgetting BNB spent all of 2022 under 350 and came back fine. Exchange tokens with real revenue do that
Only 4500 of 30k deployed on a BUY call and people are still mad. Read the position sizing before yelling
8 bull factors against 2 bear and the initial entry is still only 15% of the portfolio. The headline screams BUY but the sizing whispers caution, which I trust more.
the 15% initial entry is the honest part tbh. id take a staggered plan over a full size buy call every time, conviction without dry powder is just hope
728 with the burn still running and bnb chain fees near zero, the buyback math does the heavy lifting. the 4500 of 30k opening tranche is the disciplined part
