lmao their own backtest did -35.7% while buy and hold did +8.8% and the verdict is still BUY. bold call
^ was gonna say. 49 trades at a 51% win rate just to lose a third of the stack. ill take the boring DCA route
the backtest also started at the literal 3.15 top tho, any strategy looks bad entering there. still wouldnt put 2500 of a 10k book into something 80% off its high
sizing is the fair criticism tbh. 25 percent of a 10k book into something 80 percent off its high is conviction sizing on a momentum signal
the backtest window includes the 3.15 top, any system eats a drawdown printing through that. the relevant line is 49 trades at 51% win rate, that is a coin flip with fees on top
Target 1 and Target 2 are both 1.00, feels copy pasted. Still, +56.5% from 0.64 lines up with the 3 month run, momentum is real
down ~80% from the 3.15 high and the plan says put 2500 of a 10k book into it. restaking bags never die i guess
What carries this one is restaking demand. weETH growth keeps fee flow coming, so a 0.64 entry with the cross confirming is at least grounded in something. 1.00 needs a broad market tailwind tho
weETH growth is real but ethfi token capture of it is the weak link. fees flow to the protocol while buybacks depend on governance votes. the 0.64 entry is momentum, the restaking story is decoration
governance-gated buybacks are the part everyone skims past. the whole 0.85 trim assumes exit liquidity that keeps showing up if fees stay protocol side. still took a small stab near 0.65 tho
high conviction BUY signal and the 2yr backtest right below it shows 10k turned into 6,431. im supposed to ignore that part because RSI is 64?
The backtest had to sit through the collapse from 3.15 to 0.27. Entering on a golden cross at 0.64 with the 50d rising is a completely different setup than buying the top of the last cycle.
golden cross at 0.64 is fine but RSI 64 with both targets parked at 1.00 reads like a template. im trimming into 0.85 and keeping the rest for the boring scenario
trimming into 0.85 is the right instinct. full sending a 1.00 target on something that just woke up from a 6 month nap is how you give it all back
trim discipline wins in crab markets. 1.00 needs a btc trend change, ethfi momentum alone doesnt carry it there
6,431 includes the 3.15 entry tho, deniz already covered this. the signal fired at 0.64, judge it from there
+56.8% over 3 months while still 79.7% off the high is the most ETHFI thing ever. occasional violence in an otherwise crabby chart
79.7% off the high means the whole +56.8% quarter is a rounding error on the drawdown chart lol. still like the 0.64 zone, just size it like a crab market
80 percent off the high and waking up on eth beta, i get the 25 percent sizing but this only works if btc turns. everything else is noise
both targets parked at 1.00 with rsi 64 feels like the second half of the plan got phoned in. entry at 0.64 at least lines up with the cross
0.64 entry at the cross is fine, the 1.00 targets are just opt-in optimism. the trim plan at 0.85 carries the whole thesis anyway
6 month nap then one green week, seen this movie before. needs a higher low before anyone should trust that 0.85 trim zone
both targets at 1.00 with rsi already at 64 means the model has no imagination past round numbers. trim at 0.85 like everyone sane and let the tail ride itself
^ trim at 0.85 club grows. id add the stop under the cross at 0.52 is doing the actual work here, the double 1.00 targets are just decoration
the 0.52 stop is the whole risk model yeah. downside is maybe 18 percent from 0.64 against targets at 1.00. the math is fine, conviction is the debate
