Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
7 bull factors, ADX 36, OBV climbing and the verdict is still HOLD? system is scared of its own setup lol
this one is 2 bull vs 6 bear with OBV dumping, different picture. vol ratio 0.62 says distribution, HOLD is generous
The RSI gate is doing its job here. 55.9 is healthy but how long price has held above the 50d matters more than the factor count.
exactly Bram, trend systems get chopped apart in ranges. rather wait for the MACD to confirm than front run it
Agreed on the 50d point. FLR has grinded above it for weeks now, the 12k deployment tranche logic makes sense at these levels.
Torgeir the tranche logic only pays if FLR reclaims some range. Weeks above the 50d with ADX at 36 and still no follow through, I would keep the first buy small.
the 50d grind is nice Torgeir but the tranche logic only pays if the 200d eventually flips. until then this is a range trade with extra steps
mellowdata the ADX at 36 is exactly why its HOLD tbh. strong trend + no pullback entry = you buy the top and pray
mellowdata scared of its own setup is exactly it. 7 bull factors and HOLD, the RSI gate at 55.9 is doing silent overtime
0.01 from a 0.04 high and the rising 50d is literally the only bull factor left. death cross plus falling 1m and 3m says wait it out
The 1m and 3m trends falling while the daily holds the 50d is the part nobody reconciles. DCA into that disagreement slowly is how I would run 12k on FLR.
flr with accumulation on and vol ratio 1.23 is a DCA zone for me, not a sniper entry
1.23 vol ratio and people still want a sniper entry lol. meltwick is right, DCA and move on
where are you seeing 1.23? the analysis shows 0.62 with OBV down. whole different story for FLR
hexden_ pulled the chart myself, daily vol ratio is 1.23, the 0.62 is the weekly. you are both right and the article should say which
this is the actual answer. daily 1.23 supports the accumulation read, weekly 0.62 supports the bear one. printing one number with no timeframe is sloppy
both can be true though. daily 1.23 funds the tranche entries, weekly 0.62 sets the ceiling. printed charts just make you pick a side and the system already did: no entry with RSI above 55.9
printing both just shows the system averages disagreement into HOLD. daily 1.23 vs weekly 0.62 means range trade either way, tranche slowly and stop arguing
printing both timeframes should be the default on every one of these. half the argument in here is people looking at different charts
hexden_ good catch, 0.62 changes everything. distribution on top of a death cross and the title still says HOLD, generous verdict
FLR at 0.01 from a 0.04 high, every flare holder i know just checks the F-claim twice a year and looks away. this analysis is more attention than the chain got all q3
HOLD on 7 bull factors because one RSI print. at some point the gate IS the trade, you dont get rewarded for waiting forever on FLR
the gate paid in 2022 on FLR. everyone forgets the 0.03 to 0.015 slide because the survivors all went quiet
7 bull factors and still a HOLD because RSI 55.9 trips the gate. system would rather miss the first tranche than buy FLR hot above the 50d, respect the discipline tbh
respect the discipline sure, but RSI 55.9 blocking entry while price grinds the 50d for weeks just means the first tranche buys higher later. gates work both ways
margrave_o the whole point of a gate is you eat that cost sometimes. skip the gate in 2021 and you buy the 0.04 top, the memory tax is real
or the first tranche never fills and you sit in cash while FLR grinds higher without you. gate cost is real but so is buying an ADX 36 trend extended
