Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate

rsi over 82 as the exit on a coin that barely ever gets overbought means you sell into the only strength FLR ever shows. incredible system design
-83% off the high and the verdict is still just WAIT? kinda brutal how honest this one is lol. that 6 bear factors vs 2 bull list says everything
its WAIT not HOLD, small difference but it matters. system straight up admits there is no clear edge here
The strategy losing 28.6% while buy and hold lost 51.2% is faint praise, but 45 trades with a 40% win rate tells me the RSI filter keeps getting chopped in this ADX 38.9 regime.
45 trades in 2 years is almost one a week on a 50d/200d crossover system, something is off with the RSI > 82 exit getting triggered constantly
the ADX 38.9 chop is exactly why HOLD beats a BUY here. running a mean reversion filter in a trend regime is how you bleed 45 trades at 40 percent
DCA with 12 buys only getting you to -33% vs -41% lump sum… still underwater either way. holding FLR for the yield while price bleeds 15% over 6 months is the real bagholder experience
-83% drawdown from the 52w high and the verdict is HOLD with a 25% position size? thats a lot of faith in a coin that roundtripped this hard
lump sum turned 10k into 2,832. brutal. even the 12-buy DCA only softened it to -33%
the 25% size with 6 bear factors is trend following with a seatbelt, zero conviction required. thats the honest read of this HOLD
tbf the 25% size is exactly because of the drawdown, not despite it. you dont size a full position into something that already fell 83% off the high without some trend confirmation first
exactly, the small size is the tell. when the position sizing does the hedging you already know the verdict is a shrug
Been staking FLR through the whole slide, the yield is the only reason I still hold. ADX at 38.9 at least says the trend has teeth, chop would be worse
backtest is down 28.6% with a 40% win rate across 45 trades and it still says deploy 2,500. trend following on a coin this rangebound just churns fees imo
40% win rate is normal for trend following, the winners just run bigger. the actual problem is running a 50d/200d crossover system on a coin that trades at one cent
fair point on win rates, but a 50d/200d cross on a one cent coin fires so late the winners barely run. FLR is a mean reversion market wearing a trend costume
45 trades across 2 years on a 50d/200d cross is barely 2 a month, the churn feels worse because every RSI 82 exit fires late on FLR
45 trades at a 40 percent win rate means the winners need to triple just to break even. deploying 2,500 anyway is the system confessing
Same thought on the churn. The RSI over 82 exit on a coin that barely ever gets overbought means you are basically selling late every single time.
stage 3 topping with OBV distribution and the verdict is basically a coin flip. that 25% size recommendation is doing all the heavy lifting in this call
Right. The size recommendation is the real verdict, HOLD is just the polite packaging around a 25% conviction.
FTSO yield while the 50d sits under the 200d is the only reason my FLR bag hasnt been redeployed yet. HOLD is just farming with extra steps
flr at 0.01 against a 0.04 high and 6 bear factors vs 2 bull, the FTSO yield is the only paycheck left on this thing lol. holding is just farming at this point
the FTSO apr is honestly the only line on my spreadsheet that still prints. everything else is just watching a drawdown number
same boat. the FTSO run rate is the only line in my FLR spreadsheet that still moves, everything else is just a drawdown counter
