Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
8 bull factors, 1 bear, and the verdict is still WAIT lol. guess the system really wants MACD to flip before touching it at 89.98
the lone bear being macd is the tell. every other box ticks, the system just refuses to front run its own indicator
Holding through a 7.4% drawdown is fine when OBV is still rising and volume ratio sits at 1.3. Accumulation with trend intact is exactly when I do nothing.
OBV point is underrated. RSI at 53 with the 50d and 200d both rising means you are not buying a top here, 52w high is 97.19 anyway
8 bull factors vs 1 bear and the verdict is WAIT? thats the most hedge fund answer possible lol. rsi 53 with obv climbing is not exactly a mixed signal
^ 8 to 1 and still no edge. system basically wants a new ath before it commits, fair enough i guess
wants a new ath before committing, exactly. 97.19 is right there, one clean weekly close above and the system probably flips to full BUY
8 to 1 with a WAIT badge is the system admitting macd is its whole personality. one weekly close over 97.19 and it upgrades to buy at 95 instead of 90, thats the tax for confirmation
the 95 instead of 90 upgrade after one close over 97.19 is only a tax if the breakout holds. system paid 5 bucks to dodge the march wick, ill let it keep paying
macd lagging by design is fine until the move runs 90 to 97 in a week and you enter 8 percent late. the confirmation tax compounds
the tax only compounds if the 97.19 breakout keeps running without you. tron grinding sideways around 90 for a month and the WAIT pays for itself
rektref the confirmation tax beats a fakeout toward the 76 stop though. the wait buys you a floor that actually held during the march wick, 5 bucks of entry is the cheap part
buying 95 after confirmation instead of 90 stings until you price the fakeout toward the 76 stop. five bucks of entry for a floor that held in march is cheap
cheap until the floor becomes the ceiling. the march wick held because the whole market was bidding, solo hype doesnt always get that assist
trend systems are built like that tho, MACD is the last confirmation and it lags by design. you pay for the lag with entry price, thats the tradeoff
and the lag is why the 76 stop stays valid. late entries are the price you pay for a floor that actually held during the march wick
trend systems wait for macd because macd is the indicator that fails last. annoying, has saved me from plenty of fakeouts
The hedge is the feature. A trend system that buys every 8 to 1 setup it sees would have eaten losses in march. The WAIT costs you entry price, not capital.
entry price is capital when the ladder runs 90 to 97 in a week. four tranches of confirmation tax is real money even at a 10k size
held through the march wick on this one, sitting 7% off the high doesnt scare me. waiting for a clean reclaim of 97 before adding more tho
same, been laddering since 71. the 1.3 volume ratio is the part people keep sleeping on here
laddering since 71 with the volume ratio at 1.3, respect. i keep waiting for the 97.19 reclaim and it keeps not showing up
laddering from 71 with the 76 stop still valid is the geometry nobody mentions. risk per tranche shrank as the trend did the work
stop at 76 on an entry near 88 is 13% heat on a coin 7% off the high. the geometry is honest at least
consolidating 7% under the high with OBV still climbing is the boring-good setup. added a small tranche at 88, keeping dry powder for a 76 retest if the macro dump keeps going
paying 95 after the 97.19 reclaim instead of 90 today is the cheapest fakeout insurance on the board. the WAIT badge is consistency, not cowardice
89.98 against a 52w high of 97.19 and the ladder starts at 90. system wants the reclaim before paying up, the wait is the allocation
