Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
JST up 179% on the year and the system still says WAIT because one down day had 1.37x volume. rules are rules i guess lol
and thats exactly why the backtest only made 83% while buy and hold did 269. the filter keeps you safe but it also keeps you poor sometimes
83 vs 269 is the price of not eating a 0.08 to 0.01 roundtrip. ill pay that insurance fee happily
83 percent with sleep beats 269 percent riding a 0.08 to 0.01 candle on books this thin. poor is relative when the alternative is a blown account
one day at 1.37x volume vetoing a +179% trend is the system being humble, not dumb. single red flag rules exist for a reason
one red day at 1.37x volume delaying a plus 179 percent year, peak mechanical trading comedy
comedy until that one red day is minus 40 on a thin book. the veto is cheap insurance, jst moves are violent in both directions
rules are the entire product tho. the second you start overriding red flags manually you dont have a system anymore, you have feelings
this is the comment. the single red flag veto exists for the one time it saves you, the plus 179 percent year buys a lot of patience with the rest
rules being the product is why the 83 percent year exists at all. override one red flag manually and suddenly every drawdown becomes negotiable
the 1.37x volume veto is exactly this. one mechanical red flag and the plan just stands aside while the scanners eat the retest alone
whoever ran that trade log owes me a new keyboard. three buys at 0.08 that each dumped to 0.01 within 24h, then the whole thing still prints +83%? system has nerves of steel, i dont
three buys at 0.08 each dumping to 0.01 within 24h and the system still printed 83 percent. most relatable trade log of the week
relatable is generous, that log is a horror film. 0.08 straight to 0.01 in a day and the system answer is buy more in tranches lol
+179% in a year while BTC is down 13.7% and people still call alts dead. JST quietly doing the work, tho that 0.12 resistance is the whole ballgame here.
Backtest says 10k turned into 18,337 with 47% win rate across 49 trades. That’s barely better than a coinflip yet the trend filter carries it. System > opinions.
0.11 to 0.12 is only a 9% push, breakout scanners will chew through resistance that thin fast. the real question is whether anyone gets an entry after
thin resistance at 0.12 is exactly why the 25% cash buffer exists. scanner crowd gets the move, plan people get the sleep
Lump sum 1y ago = 33,351 vs DCA 12 buys = 21,562. Yet the plan tells you to deploy in 2 tranches. Mixed signals but ok, the 25% cash buffer saves you from yourself.
JST at 0.11 with the 52w high literally at 0.12. one push thru that and every breakout scanner fires at once, until then the 25% cash buffer does its job
even if 0.12 breaks the scanners will dump it right back. JST books are thin enough that breakout entries get punished on the retest
thin books punishing breakout entries on the retest has been the JST way since 2021. scanners learn it the expensive way every cycle
33k lump vs 21k DCA and everyone still defends tranches. the 25% cash buffer looks smarter now with price pressed right under 0.12 tho
0.08 entries round tripping to 0.01 inside a day and the plan still cleared 83 percent. the HOLD math never needed the 0.12 breakout to work
49 trades, 47 percent win rate, a 1.37x volume veto and tranche entries. its a rules engine, not a crystal ball, and thats the only honest way to sell a system
