OBV climbing and vol ratio at 1.67 while everyone sleeps on SKY. thats the accumulation phase the chart literally spells out
dont skip the dca table. 6 buys ends at 12,302 while lump sum from a year ago sits at 8,997. timing this thing was the trap
depends where you start the clock on that DCA table. start it at the low and lump sum wins by a mile. 8,997 vs 12,302 is just a story about entry luck
12.3k dca vs 9k lump is just entry luck, Sigrid is right about the clock. still dca tho bc i get paid monthly not whenever the chart bottoms lol
12.3k dca vs 9k lump sum is the quiet flex of the whole analysis. nobody times the entry, you grind it
the lump sum crowd forgets that table assumes you had 9k lying around exactly a year ago at the high. dca wins mostly because life pays you monthly
OBV rising while price sits under 0.10 is either accumulation or a slow exit in disguise. on SKY volume history id bet exit tbh
OBV on SKY volume is like 3 market makers and a dog. the only signal is a 0.10 break with real volume behind it
Golden cross, price above the 200d, and the backtest still only shows a 41% win rate over 22 trades. Small sample but the trend is hard to argue with.
41 percent win rate only works because the winners ran. cut the two best trades out of that 22 and the backtest is underwater, thats the fragility nobody mentions
thats every trend system ever tho, the two best trades ARE the strategy. the real fragility is 22 samples, thats not a backtest its an anecdote
22 trades over years on a daily chart is thin either way. one more SKY cycle doubles the sample and probably flips half the losers, trend systems converge slow
22 samples is small but its 22 across years of setups. trend systems on slow timeframes always look thin, the 200d filter does more work than the count suggests
every trend backtest on daily charts looks like 22 samples. the 200d filter is what lets the winners run big enough to matter
22 trades is an anecdote dressed up as a sample. still long the 0.10 break but lets not pretend the backtest proves anything
41 percent with winners running is fine math, my issue is the entry. buying 0.08 under a 0.10 wall instead of waiting for the break feels like paying for hope
Doru P. nailed my hangup, why pay 0.08 under the wall. waiting for a daily close above 0.10 with vol ratio still above 1.5, miss the first 10 percent and sleep fine
reply to Torgeir, vol ratio filter is smart but half the break happens on a weekend candle when nobody is awake to act. i just set an alert at 0.098 and let it decide
daily close above 0.10 with the vol ratio still above 1.5, same checklist. miss the first 10 percent, keep the win rate
resistance at 0.10 is the whole trade. breaks it im adding, gets rejected im out. simple
0.08 against a 0.10 52w high is basically one resistance break away from a coinflip. vol ratio at 1.67 says someone is positioning before it tho
41 percent win rate over 22 trades with the 200d climbing underneath. trend systems only need the winners to run, the dca table carries you meanwhile
golden cross and OBV both green and im still just watching 0.10. breaks it with volume this whole comment section ages well, otherwise its another range trade
vol ratio 1.67 is the part nobody talks about. if 0.10 goes it probably goes fast, thin book up there. and if it fails you are still sitting above a rising 200d, thats the actual edge
The whole thread is arguing entry timing on a 2 cent range. The backtest table shows the 200d filter did the work either way.
