Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate
Data via Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko · Not financial advice. For educational purposes only.
3 month comparison XDC +5 vs ETH +42 and SOL +49 is brutal but thats also why the r/r is there if ADX 39.5 holds. not my rotation tho
BUY call on something 80% off the high while the death cross is still on the chart. trend following is just fomo with a spreadsheet lol
death cross lags by design, half its signals arrive after the move. ADX this high is the part the 50/200 cant see
the death cross lag is exactly why these 50/200 systems enter late. RSI at 68 is spicy but ADX 39.5 says the trend is real, not chop
Matteo gets it. ADX 39.5 with a fresh upper band breakout is not chop, i got burned shorting exactly this setup on XDC back in march. still only taking half the tranche size tho, 0.03 support and 0.03 resistance is basically a flatline
look at the comparison table tho. XDC +5% over 3 months while ETH did +42.2% and SOL +49.8%. deploy here why exactly, because it finally stopped going down?
comparative returns are the wrong lens for a trend follower tho. the engine buys the ADX 39.5 breakout, not the 3 month league table
the ETH +42 vs XDC +5 comparison ignores that the engine is not a leaderboard picker. ADX 39.5 with 1.79x volume on the breakout day, the trend starts when the laggers flip, not before
3 tranches and a 15% cash buffer on a 35k book. at least this engine has actual risk rules instead of the usual yolo apes
the 15% cash buffer is doing heavy lifting in this plan lol. most 35k deployments i see would be margin called in week one
cash buffer on a 35k book is whatever, the tranche spacing is the real defense here. death cross still on the chart is the part nobody in this thread wants to discuss lol
RSI 68 on an 80 percent drawdown survivor with a fresh upper band break. seen this resolve both ways but the 0.03 flatline Tomasz mentioned breaking would be my confirmation, not the BUY banner
