Trend-following methodology: 50d/200d MA crossover + RSI filter + ADX regime gate

deploying into something 90% off the high while a death cross still sits on the chart takes nerve. but those backtest entries on the 15th and 16th, +7.9% then +4.9% back to back, thats the trend flipping for real
death cross lags by months, price is already above both the 50d and the 200d. ADX at 34.8 says this trend has legs
1.10 dot. i remember when 4 bucks felt like the floor. aisha braver than me pulling the trigger here
10k into a token down 90% from its 11.60 high. either genius or the same cope i had in 2022
^ at 1.10 the downside math actually works if parachain auctions ever pick back up. weak hands already gone imo
the sim table says the strategy lost 32% while buy and hold lost 67% on DOT. losing slower is still losing lol
the sim table says the strategy lost 32% while buy and hold lost 67% on DOT. losing slower is still losing lol
counterpoint: 32 vs 67 means the plan lets you survive to the next cycle. half of trading is not being at zero when the turn actually comes
parachain auctions are done though, the demand driver now is the jam upgrade. if that ships, dot at 1.10 will look like the deal of the year
the jam upgrade shipping is doing heavy lifting in every dot bull case rn. if it slips again the 1.10 entry becomes the 0.81 retest real fast
cope would be deploying the full 10k at once. staged tranches with a hard stop at 0.96 is just admitting nobody knows the bottom, 1.28 confirming would be the actual signal
1.28 has rejected three times since june tho. add at 1.08 if you want but the confirm level isnt a given on flat OBV
flat OBV through a triple top is actually constructive, supply isnt growing into the resistance. still wouldnt add before 1.28 flips tho
1.28 rejecting three times since june means the level is real once it finally breaks. buying 1.08 instead of the breakout is the odd part to me
staged entries are the only sane way to touch something 90 percent off its high. even then a 0.96 stop is tight for how violently dot moves
0.96 stop from a 1.08 entry is a 13 percent haircut, thats not tight thats required. dot does 10 percent candles in its sleep
volume ratio 1.52 with OBV rising, thats accumulation not a paper pump. bought my tranche at 1.04, not selling under 1.28
same read on the OBV. resistance at 1.28 is where i trim, everything above 50d MA at 0.90 is bonus
obv read is fine but the bearish box still lists a death cross and the 200d sits at 1.08. one red candle and 0.81 support gets tested fast
1.52 volume ratio is nice but watch it fade if DOT chops under 1.08 for a few weeks. OBV flatlines fast on low interest alts
ratio fading under 1.08 chop is the base case, agreed. but ADX at 34.8 with price above both moving averages is the opposite of a chop signature. two weeks tells us which read is right
stop at 0.96 on a midrange entry with resistance at 1.28. sizing it 2.5k out of 10k is the only sane part of this plan tbh
the 200d at 1.08 is the make or break for me. above it i add, below it we are back to the 0.81 conversation. ADX at 34.8 helps but the death cross crowd wont budge until 1.28 breaks
1.08 is the trigger, sure. but the plan already carries a 0.96 stop on a 2.5k tranche so the 0.81 scenario is max a few hundred bucks of damage. the risk framing is the part people skip
dot at 1.10 against a 52 week high of 11.60 and the bull case rides on an upgrade that has slipped before. bold plan, decent risk framing
dot at 1.10 from a 11.60 high is either the most obvious falling knife or the best R:R of the year. jam shipping on time decides which
