Solana Racing Game Meta Racing Is Shutting Down: Unlock, Claim and Withdraw Your NFTs Before Nov. 15

Meta Racing, the Solana-based racing game where players owned pilot NFTs, cards and upgradeable cars, is shutting down. The team announced the closure on X on Oct. 28 with a letter attached as an image, and buried inside the farewell note is the line every player needs: anyone still holding assets in the game has until Nov. 15 to withdraw them. After that date, according to the team’s own warning, any assets that have not been withdrawn will no longer be accessible.

The Artist’s Journey

The letter reads like a genuine eulogy rather than a corporate memo. “Our team started with a simple dream: to build a blockchain game where strategy, calculation and progression matter more than FOMO and speculation,” the team wrote. The credit, they insisted, belongs to the players: “You, our players, turned that dream into a real story. Your garages, pilots, cards, wins and losses are the true Meta Racing. Together we built strategies, leveled up cars and pilots, raced and laughed on streams, debated the game and made it better.” No individual signed the letter — it is credited simply to “The Meta Racing Team” — and several questions went unanswered, including what happens to the game’s servers, its in-game currency and its tournament schedule in the run-up to the deadline, and whether anything at all remains online once Nov. 15 passes.

Collection Mechanics

The withdrawal mechanics are spelled out in a warning box headed “Important: withdraw your assets by November 15.” There are three instructions. First, unlock your pilots and other NFTs. Second, claim your staking rewards. Third, transfer all of your assets to your own wallet. Each step matters. Unlocking refers to NFTs that were staked or escrowed inside the game’s systems — an NFT still locked into a game contract on Nov. 16 is an NFT you cannot move. Staking rewards that go unclaimed before the deadline are simply forfeited. And the final transfer step is the whole point of self-custody: assets sitting in a game-managed wallet are exposed to whatever happens to Meta Racing’s infrastructure after shutdown, while assets in your own Solana wallet remain yours no matter what the studio does next.

Utility and Perks

Meta Racing’s pitch was progression over speculation — pilots and cars that gained levels, strategic card mechanics, and a tournament scene streamed to an active community. That utility now has a fixed expiry. What survives Nov. 15 is only what players extract: the pilot and car NFTs themselves, held in personal wallets, with whatever residual value the Solana NFT market assigns to artifacts of a closed game. History is not encouraging on that front, but it is not uniformly grim either — collectibles from shutdown games with genuine communities occasionally retain nostalgic or historical value. What is certain is that utility inside the game — staking yields, tournament entry, progression — dies with the servers.

Secondary Market Action

Expect exit pressure, not accumulation. When a game announces a hard withdrawal deadline, rational holders reduce to what they can carry: NFTs move to personal wallets, rewards are claimed, and speculative inventory gets listed for sale before the market prices in the shutdown. Meta Racing assets trade on Solana, where the broader market is currently stable — SOL changes hands around 102.52 USD, with bitcoin near 81,354 USD and ether near 2,363.82 USD — but macro calm will not offset the asset-specific gravity of a game closing. Sellers have roughly two weeks of liquidity left; buyers are essentially purchasing memorabilia.

Final Verdict

Meta Racing’s exit is more communicative than most — the team gave a clear date, three concrete steps and a direct warning about permanent loss — but the pattern is wearing thin. November 2026 is now stacked with Web3 gaming funerals: MARBLEX’s Seven Deadly Sins NFT Adventure goes offline Nov. 11, Gigaverse withdrawals pause Nov. 15, the Abstract chain itself dies Dec. 15, and Blur’s NFT lending site winds down mid-month. Every closure ends with the same moral: if your NFTs live in a game’s custody rather than your own wallet, your ownership is a courtesy the operator extends until the day it cannot. Unlock, claim, transfer — before Nov. 15. That is the entire strategy now.

  1. started unlocking my pilots the second i saw the letter. staking rewards just forfeit if you dont claim before Nov 15, they buried that in a warning box smh

    1. same, already moved my cars out. the three step flow (unlock, claim, transfer) is annoying but way better than a bricked NFT stuck in their contract

    2. wait staking rewards forfeit too?? just assumed theyd airdrop whatever was owed. claiming everything tonight, thanks for the heads up

  2. The farewell letter is oddly touching for a shutdown notice, but nobody signed it. Just “The Meta Racing Team”. Would love to know what actually happens to the servers once the deadline passes.

    1. my guess is the contract stays live but the frontend dies, so your NFTs exist onchain and the only way out is calling the contract directly. most players wont manage that

  3. nov 15 deadline and nobody even signed the letter, just The Meta Racing Team. at least they gave a withdrawal window, most solana games just ghost

    1. the garages and pilots line got me ngl, spent months leveling my cars. withdrawing tonight, not risking the deadline crunch

  4. Note the cutoff covers everything, cars, cards, pilot NFTs. After Nov. 15 assets are simply inaccessible. Set the reminder now, not the week of.

  5. unlock, claim, transfer. three steps and zero margin for error after nov 15. the letter was sweet but an unsigned letter doesnt withdraw my cars for me
